Equipment problem #1

The VIN to my car does not match with the motor. I find this odd. When I looked up my car VIN on kelly blue book the discription was a 4 cylinder but how because I spiciflly bought the 6 cylinder. Equipment problem #2

The oil housing cap cracked during an oil change on my 2021 Lexus Is300. This occurred at my mechanics shop. I would have taken the car to the dealer but the cost for an oil change is double. The mechanic charged me for the part $55. 25. When he went to purchase the part from jm Lexus, sample road, the parts person said this is a problem that should have been resolved. I called the parts manager at jm Lexus to verify this information. He stated that the part is weak and cracks and that this part needs to be replaced a few times a month. I wrote to the executives at jm Lexus and they refuse to reimburse me because the car was not serviced there, however, the bigger problem is that this part needs to be retooled and owners recalled for replacement. For those in cold weather, could this part crack and leak oil? will I be charged every time I get an oil change because of this defect?.

Equipment problem #3

I was driving down the highway at 70 mph and it was windy at the same time. Out of no where my sunroof window exploded shattering the glass. Luckily I usually keep the cover close. It sounded a gun shot that went off. There was nothing around me that would come down and break the window of the sunroof. It just happened out of no where.

Equipment problem #4

Recall has not been resolved since January.

Equipment problem #5

I leased a new 2019 is 300 in Dec 2018 for my then 18yo daughter. Since the start of this contract, we have had the car serviced several times for multiple issues: the ac not working, then the "o" ring being crimped, something broken in the fuel pump (causing my 19yo daughter to be stuck on the side of the road) and now recalled, the brakes, the speakers, the sunroof not opening fully, the car jerks when going downhill, etc. We took the car in for scheduled service on 5/28/20, and when my daughter picked up her car on 5/30/20, then tire light was on. The service manager had air put in the tire and sent her on her way. When I arrived from California (where I live) on 6/1/20, the tire light was on again, so I took the car for service. Now, we are faced with improper wear to the inside of all 4 tires (the steel cords/belts are coming through the tires). The service manager, tom (at performance Lexus in mason, OH), told me yesterday, 6/4/20, this is how the suspension is made on this vehicle and the tires only last about 20,000 miles, now they are in dangerous condition, so I need to purchase a different brand (michelin) of new tires and do an alignment before it can be driven. I asked "if the tires are in such a dangerous condition, why would you allow my daughter to drive the vehicle off the lot, and if this is related to the suspension, how will purchasing new tires and doing an alignment resolve/prevent this issue from occurring in the future?" also, I found the service receipt under the floor mat, it was not given to my daughter. I am unable to upload the service receipt and video. This is the web address:https://96331. Iserviceauto. Com/2c5ef112fef7d5956ea2b11427b76465c68621c4.

Equipment problem #6

Please see images. Without warning on this news 2019 Lexus is 300 with approximately 2,000 miles on it the left rear front tire literally came off the vehicle while traveling south at legal highway speed on I-95 near boynton beach, florida. The tire completely blew up off the vehicle and the vehicle slammed onto the ground in a very dangerous manner, causing smoke and what looked like a fire. The vehicle swerved off the side of the freeway and 2 passengers exited quickly from the vehicle and florida highway patrol was called. Please see photos and there is also video too large to attach amd news video story as well. It is too large to attach. We will be happy to provide alll materials. The dealership has offerred to replace the defective tire. They claim they do not know what caused the failure, even after an engineer came out. There is $2300 of damage to the car according to jm Lexus as a result of the failure and there were injuries. We asked Lexus to report this to your office, but we have been unable to get an answer as to whether that was done. After research we found a number of similar complaints about this tire and these vehicles.

Equipment problem #7

In one calendar year all 4 tires have been replaced. One blew out completely and the last one wore out unevenly from the inside. Car has been designed around tires and are too small for the rims causing them to wear unevenly. Negative camber may also have influenced the wear. The tire that blew out was while I was driving on a major highway.

Equipment problem #8

Sticky dashboard. Dashboard has become sticky to the touch and stains anything that comes in contact.

Equipment problem #9

Sticky residue due to the melting material on the dashboard causes fumes. Fumes are toxic and is getting in the ac and ventilation. Melting dashboard. Sticky residue. Clothes will stick to it. Melts when it gets hot in the car. Currently living in California where it is summer weather 9 out of the 12 months. Please help.

Equipment problem #10

The Lexus Is300 have the worst dash, I don't understand why Lexus didn't have a recall on them as they did for the is250 or the is350. God forbids you park your car at work and at the end of the day when you get in your vehicle and you touch the dash or around the shifter, it feels like it is melting. And sometimes I wonder if there is some type of fume radiating from the dash itself. #2. The throttle body issue-apparently I am not the only one who is having the issue, sometimes it takes off, sometimes it doesn't push air through and there is a 2-3 seconds delay which can cause an accident especially if you are crossing an intersection. I almost got hit twice.

Equipment problem #11

Dash is peeling along with the center console. The passenger side airbag is also start to discolor and peel. The peeling is more like starting to gum up or become sticky.

Equipment problem #12

Like most Lexus Is300 owners, my car exhibits the "melting" dashboard issue. My main concern is the melting material could be releasing chemicals that is orderless/toxic. Lexus is refusing the repair the issue out of their own pockets.

Equipment problem #13

Sticky melting dashboard.

Equipment problem #14

The dashboard on my Lexus Is300 is melting and reflects off the windshield during the daytime causing a terrible glare that at times affects driving vision. This is the same problem that Lexus has identified in other Lexus vehicles (06 and up is, ls460 etc)and will replace those dashboards. I have contacted Lexus customer service and took my vehicle to the dealer for inspection. The decision by Lexus customer service is they refused to approve my dashboard due to the age of the vehicle. I'm also worried that there might be chemicals that can effect health coming out of the dash board causing it to melt. Can this melted dashboard effect the passenger airbag by melting ? my vehicle is in the garage at home and work. Please help to get Lexus to replace my defective dashboard.

Equipment problem #15

I special ordered a 2003 Lexus is 300 in 2002 in which waited 2 months for its arrival. There has been several recalls with components on my car but Lexus selected just a few to send letters to. Initially, the dashboard was manufacture with defective material and Lexus corporation refused to take care of it. I am still working on this issue then there is the sensor2 bank1 which my trac off blinking and check engine light stays on. The scary things is with the sensor issue the car will stop running without any warning. Driving on the highway 60 miles per hour my motor stop running which caused another driver to have an accident. The driver tried to avoid hitting me and he totaled his car. Lexus sent out limited recall letters therefore I did not know about the issue and could have cost my or the driver life. Now Lexus will not correct this issue even though I researched and found the recall. I called Lexus and was told there wasn't a need to send me letter because my VIN # wasn't on the list. I asked how could send the letters to a few when most of the is 300 has the same issue.

Equipment problem #16

My 2004 Lexus is 300 has a melting dashboard. The dashboard has become sticky to the touch and leaves marks when you touch it.

Equipment problem #17

The dashboard on this car has been melting over the years. It is garaged all the time but if I put it in the sun for even 30 minutes, it becomes sticky and chemicals start to leach into the car and it smells horrible. If I touch the dashboard, black paint comes off onto my fingers. I took it to the dealer and they said they had seen it before and I complained to Lexus. Because there is no recall, they say as a good will gesture, they will cover 50% to repair. That is ridiculously expensive for something that is probably causing cancer, it is all over the Lexus boards that this is happening and they won't do anything unless if there is a recall!.

Equipment problem #18

Dashboard is melting on my 2002 Is300. This is a safety hazard causing glare on windshield. Also the sticky black dash gets on our skin and likely has harmful chemicals that is being absorbed in our bodies. Lexus refuses to repair this known defect and my vehicle has not been included in the recall. I always thought Lexus was the top brand for reliability and quality. My viewpoint of Lexus brand has changed after this and I can no longer consider buying Lexus in future. Very disappointed in their poor quality control and refusal to stand by their brand.

Equipment problem #19

The dash board is melting since 2007, Lexus did not do any more than change passenger air bag cover that after a wile starter melting again, they blame at sun exposure, the car is always in the garage and is used very little today the millage is 48. 000, we complained to Lexus a little after the warranty was over with no result. We are afraid of toxicity that can affect our health we express this to Lexus and they dismissed our concern.

Equipment problem #20

The dashboard is in very poor condition with a sticky and melting appearance. I complained to Lexus of Toyota and was told that the warranty would not cover to replace or fix the problem. Considering that I did not have money to replace this with my own funds, I did not pursue it.

Equipment problem #21

Melting dashboard and around the gear shift and Lexus will not do anything about it. Poor customer service for a so called "luxury" brand. I had some paper actually stick to the plastic around the gear shift and when I went to pick it up I had to peel it off then I tried clean it off with just water and a rag and it left marks. I want something done by Lexus. A lot of people are having this same problem so why isn't Lexus doing anything about it? I want something done! my dash and plastic around the gear shift need to be replaced and it has nothing to do with normal wear and tear. I just found this site that's why I'm just now reporting it but this has been a problem since about 2014. Lexus should own up to their mistakes and fix them. I will keep calling and keep going to the dealership until something is done!.
