The driver of the second vehicle was injured during the incident but no further information was available. A police report was available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 91,274.
Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6) I own a 2006 Lexus is 350. I have had two incidents of "unattended acceleration" but was fortunate that both occurred on the freeway and I was able to get the vehicle to stop accelerating. My question is this; I received a notice from Lexus, about six months ago, that there was a problem with the vehicle; however they were going to let me know when they had a fix for the problem. I've called several times, the last time was this week 3-9-10, and was told again that they do not have a fix and I need to wait and they would let me know when to bring the vehicle in. This seems dangerous, and I would like to complain that Lexus is not doing enough to either get me a replacement vehicle to drive until they fix the car, or fix it. [xxx].
