After hitting a hard bump, the vehicle threw a b1866 code indicating an open circuit on the front passenger knee airbag. The connector has become loose and after reading other complaints online it seems to happen frequently with this connector or on the driver side knee airbag connector.

Wiring harness defect renders srs/seatbelt pretension system inoperable. Lexus refuses to replace wiring harness without charging $3,000. The issue is listed under a TSB by Lexus and was known to them.
Dashboard and door panels are melting causing the plastic to shine and cast a reflection on the windshield causing poor vision. In addition the passenger airbag may not work properly as the dash has melted within the area the airbag should deploy.
Vehicle was stationary and sat overnight. Upon starting car srs light came on and was diagnosed with trouble code dtc 1861 that resulted in a knee squib malfunction due to a wiring harness issue. This requires a new wiring harness that will cost over $2500. Lexus knows this is an issue as they have issued a TSB for it but refuses to issue a recall or do it as a goodwill service. This is a major safety issue especially due to Lexus realizing there is an issue but refusing to step up and correct the issue.
Earlier this year, I received the takata airbag recall notice and in the notice it indicates there is no remedy. Just recently, I called Toyota north american, was transferred to Lexus corp. Spoke with a person that obviously did not care. She went on to say that I was in zone c, she did have any knowledge of when the parts would be at a nearby dealership and that since the climate was cooler that cars in this area of the country were going to be the last to be fixed. Please know that this recall notice went out in January and that my car has been essentially sitting off and on since this time frame! I received an email indicating that Lexus would pay for a rental - $35/per day. Really????! I paid a bunch of money for a car that I really shouldn't be driving and it's now September 2017 and there is still no remedy! nine months is too long for a car to be repaired!! when I spoke with the person at Lexus, she seemed rather disconcerted with my situation and then became extremely upset! honestly, since I can't drive the car, I want a different vehicle to drive. I want Lexus to do something about my situation! thank you. Kacy mueller chehalis, wa.

I have contacted the Lexus service center for woodland hills, CA dealer to schedule an appointment back in June 2017. Up to this date, August 21,2017, they still don't have the part available for my car. I called again today and they told me they will call me back when the part is available. This is unacceptable. How long does it take for the parts to be ordered? in the meantime, I have to use my car. If something happen to me or my family, this is not good for your company.

Takata recall I would like to register a complaint about the length of time for me to be notified that my car is affected by this recall ( August 2016) and the fact that there is no time line for a fix. The recommended work around is to not have someone in the passengers seat. This is obviously a ridiculous option.

"takata recall" I would like to ask if I can just have the airbags taken out. It is ridiculous to not be able to have people in my car while driving. How do I know if it is safe for me to be driving the vehicle. The air bags sound like they can hurt more than just the passengers. I feel it is my right to have the bags taken out and to depend on the trusty seatbelt. Can I have this done at no charge to me? I also want to know why did they use a different airbag manufacturer for the passenger side. Why not stick with one manufacture. Is the airbag on the passenger side defective only? I just purchased this vehicle thinking that a Lexus was a dependable car and safer than most. Please help me to take out the airbag or airbags at no cost to myself. I rather be safe than have the airbags. The airbags sound highly dangerous to anyone in the car should the air bags go off because of the air bag degrading in time to heat etc.

"takata recall'. Affected areas are the front passenger airbags . I am being told that despite this recall being issued for over a year or more that the remedy is still not available. I find this highly dangerous and terrible business practice for the Lexus corporation; not to mention putting my personal safety at risk.

Takata recall I received a letter in may 2016 that there was a recall on the passenger airbag and needed to come in for service, I took my vehicle in and was told they had not received the parts and would notify me when they were available. As of 12/09/2016 they still nave not received what they need to fix my vehicle. I am very dissatisfied with Lexus. I would like someone to get this problem resolved as soon as possible. If I do not get satisfaction I may have to contact an attorney.
There are 2 recalls that I have been told by servco Lexus oahu have to be done at a dealership. The problem is I live on the big island of hawaii and there is not a dealership on this island so I was told I have to pay for the shipping of my vehicle to the the dealership on the other islands, either maui, or oahu. I have argued with them saying it is there responcibility to fix the car and I shouldn't have to pay anything for them fix their mess. I was told by an assistant manager at servco Lexus oahu, that if I read my owners manual I would have known this. Do you know of anyone who has read their owners manual front to back before they bought a car, new or used, what if someone buys a used car and there is not a manual in the car?he also told me that all automanufacturers state that in there mauals so I read my chevy truck and my corvette manual and it says "Chevrolet will repair all factory recalls within 30 days and if they cannot they will find a repair shop to do the work and worse case scenario they will send parts to the customer. " I read the manual from Lexus but couldn't find anything saying I am responsible for shipping costs for them to fix their mess, it might be in there but I couldn't find it. Anyways these recall are from 2010 and haven't been fixed, there is a recall on the interior door panels and dashboard I have been waiting on for 15 months, I was told that it should take 8-12 mo. , still waiting, I can't even sell the car without taking at least a$2000. 00 loss, if l would have known it was going to take this long and that I was going to get such a hassle and disrespect from the company of Lexus I would of never bought this from my friend in the first place. This is not how the american automanufacturers do business, I will never buy a japanese car ever again. If they can't conduct business like the big boys do then they shouldn't do any business.
No one has contacted us about this hazard it has been a year what are they waiting for the car to get in an accident so they won't have to fix it I can't sell the car because of this problem I cant drive the car because of this problem what am I to do ???? 740-272-0472.
Takata recall I am having issues regarding getting this fixed as well as my dashboard and doors as they are melting and cracking away after several attempts over the last year to get this resolved I still have gotten no response and it is only getting worse. It's becoming harder and harder to see when driving due to the glare from the dashboard and not to mention the fact that it is literally falling apart day by day.
