My 2025 Lexus Ls500, with only 500 miles, has two serious defects in the front passenger seat, creating a safety hazard. The massage function is non-functional, grayed out in the infotainment system, and the seat belt fails to tighten or retract, leaving significant slack when buckled. Issues appeared during normal city driving (dry conditions, <10 mph, no accidents or modifications). The seat belt, when pulled and buckled, remains loose with several inches of slack, failing to secure an occupant. This was tested 5+ times, stationary and moving. The massage feature (part of the 28-way adjustable seat package) is grayed out, indicating a system fault, likely in the seat’s control module or air bladders. No warning lights (e. G. , srs) are on, and no diagnostic codes are retrieved yet. The loose belt poses a severe risk in a collision, as it cannot restrain the occupant, increasing chances of ejection or injury (e. G. , head/neck trauma). A dealer visit is planned under warranty, but this manufacturing defect in a new vehicle is alarming. Vehicle was bought new from Lexus of glendale, glendale, CA. Photos of the grayed-out controls and slack belt are available. This may affect other 2025 Ls500s and warrants investigation to prevent injuries or fatalities.

The contact owns a 2016 Lexus Ls. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph the vehicle crashed into the rear end of a commercial truck. During the crash both the front driver side and passenger side airbags failed to deploy. The driver sustained a fractured lumbar vertebrae and the front passenger sustained chest and upper torso injuries. The passenger was transported to the nearby hospital. A police report was taken at the scene. The vehicle was driven back to the home. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was contacted regarding the incident. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 122,000.

I am uploading for complaint number 11485175.
At approximately 2:00 pm on Jan. 5, 2020, I was driving my 2006 Lexus Ls 430 in a residential area in bethesda, MD. I decided to turn around. I turned right into a driveway (at a low speed) with the brake pedal applied. Suddenly, and without warning, the car accelerated wildly, making a great deal of engine noise, as the throttle appeared to be wide open. Thankfully I hit a near-by tree and two front air bags deployed. A homeowner called the police, and an ambulance took me to the emergency room at a nearby hospital. If this sudden acceleration had occurred on a highway, I am certain that lives would have been lost.

Unintended acceleration. As I was parking the vehicle suddenly accelerated and jumped the curb and ran into the building. I tried to back off the building and could not stop the racing engine. The vehicle shot backwards even though I was on the brake. It went through some hedges over a rise and crossed the street where the rear hit a palm tree and collapsed the trunk. Both the front and rear were severely damaged. No air bags deployed.

Pulled car into lined parking space, placed car in park, turned car off (keyless ignition "Smart key" on dash turned to left/off position, about to get out of car, just started to take seat belt off when car started up, went uncontrollably forward over cement parking barrier and cement walkway and hit parked vehicle on other side of lot, all the while shifter in park position and foot on brake, tried to keep car straight, but would not respond and veered to the right. After this first impact shifter slipped from park to reverse on own and car went backwards again over cement barrier and walkway and hit car behind and finally came to rest. In going backwards brakes did not again respond. This was experienced and witnessed by two other passengers inside the car, tow truck personnel also noted that afterwards, when placed in neutral to put on flatbed, car shifter had tendency to go to reverse or forward gear. Police report stated that "it appears that a vehicle malfunction could have been the cause of the crash". This vehicle is a brand new 2006 Lexus Ls430, purchased 5/30/06 with only 4800 miles on it! driver and one passenger have soft tissue musculoskeletal injury/pain and driver has anxiety/ panic attacks whenever attempting to drive, and is receiving professional medical assistance and medications to treat this. Nothing thus far has been done by Lexus to correct or prevent this failure from potentially recurring again, the car is presently having the physical damage repaired by the Lexus body shop.
