Purchased a used 2008 Lexus Ls460 and within about two hours the vehicle abruptly and completely shut down while driving in traffic, with no warning and no practical ability to predict the failure or safely pull off the road. Near collisions were narrowly avoided only because other drivers swerved or slammed on brakes. At the time of purchase there were no warning lights illuminated, but immediately after the shutdown multiple warning lights illuminated (including brake/abs/stability-related warnings as documented by an independent service center). The vehicle was inspected the next day by an independent service center, which documented multiple diagnostic trouble codes across major systems and stated that repairs would be in the thousands and not recommended. The inspection also noted indications consistent with diagnostic codes having been cleared prior to purchase, and the battery at inspection could not hold a charge aiding the clearing of codes. The vehicle had no functional exhaust system (mufflers cut off), creating a carbon monoxide exposure risk that was only mitigated because the driver had the windows down unknowingly to the leak. The service center also reported tires beyond safe wear limits that were not readily visible without lifting the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance.

This car has a melty / sticky peeling interior defect issue. I bought my 2007 Ls 460l in October 2019. I had my daughter a year later. As she grew and rode in the vehicle she started scrapping and consuming the door panel. I did not know the interior could be consumed, as I did not think about eating the interior pieces. Kids think differently. My family is at health risk from this consumable interior. I'm trying to get pines Lexus to fix this issue but they say too much time has passed and I have to pay for this myself. I purchased the vehicle in 2019, they did not warn me of the car's defects and safety issues. The interior should be a safety recall with no expiration. Please assist.

For the Ls460, there was a recall due to interior component deterioration during covid. I believe that during covid lockdowns, dealerships were understaffed, as I was unable to schedule an appointment. When I contacted after the covid lockdowns were over, I was informed that I was unable to complete the recall. The interior of the car is now deteriorating far worse. How can I get an extension of this recall?.
The dashboard and the dash material on tue top of the doors are gummy/ melting.
I own this car in canada ontario since november2018. Carfax history report shows an exact specification and VIN on a car registered in bee cave texas. The car in the USA started showing in March 2019. I called USA police and the officer found the car carrying my canadian car VIN. This is a stolen car had my VIN put on it. Nobody is taking action as this USA car was not reported stolen. The officer said that he did not check the other parts if they carry the same VIN. I spoke to USA Lexus and stephanie said we have not to many information about this VIN because it is a canadian car. So what are you waiting for? stolen car with my car VIN!!!!!for the dafety of your citizen this is a crime to steal vehicle identity from different country. I am even sending you the shop the us cloned car went to for services.

Car doesn’t run probably. Seat are getting ripped.
The dashboard and side trim on the door has become sticky causing glare in the windshield which makes driving hazardous as difficult to see through the windshield while driving. Our 2007 Lexus Ls460 has only 23,000 miles on it as it has been garaged most of the time we have owned it. Lexus will not process a recall to cover this issue. Legally they have a duty of care with the manufacturing of this vehicle which they are refusing to meet.
My dash boards do other interior is melting.

Backing out of driveway (in motion) into a city street, car stopped abruptly and would not start again. Immediately warning lights vcs, brake and abs showed on panel. The abs control module was replaced 6/25/20 costing me $2,708. 36 (invoice attached). In March (03/06/20) I paid $2,014. 96 for tires and brake replacement (invoice attached). That's a total cost of $4,723. 32. I feel scammed because I think the brake job in March created the problem for the abs to malfunction and it should not have been my responsibility to replace it. Please reply if possible. I'm reporting issue to Lexus corp also. I read on a post that the abs module rarely needs replacing. Thank you for your help.
Horn not working. Verified the fuses associated with horn and all or ok.

The vehicle was in motion on a hot sunny day. Out of no where there the sunroof exploded. I was traveling at speeds up to 75 mph on a highway. I heard the loud pop like a gunshot, and the glass shattering. The visor to the sunroof was closed, and when I opened it to see what happened it seemed, and if the glass was about fall on me while driving, I immediately closed the visor for protection, then I heard the glass flying off in to the traffic behind me.
The collision avoidance system blows fuses and stops working, but the light on the dash continues to indicate that everything is working. In other words, there is no way to learn that the collision system is offline unless you're willing to simulate a near certain collision (which I did with the dealer in my car and he finally acknowledged the problem), or having an actual accident. This is clearly a design flaw. If the fuse is blown, obviously the system should show an error when it's engaged - not a green indicator.

Apeal against the recall done by Lexus Toyota on may 16th, 2019, I took my car Lexus 2018 Ls 500 to the dealer, Lexus of woodland hills, where I bought it, for being recalled by the company. (NHTSA recall no. 19v-134) after recall defects were fixed, I drove about 4,000 miles and took the car back to the dealer for maintenance. At this time, tremendous number of deep large scrapes on all four tires, which I had never seen in the entire driving experience of my life were pointed out by the dealer. The dealer violently insisted on the scrapes were not caused by the defects. After tremendous argument, the dealer wrote, diagnostics is required to determine the recommended correction for your concern. the car also has stability problem. From the beginning, it lacks stability compared with Ls460 traded-in. I visited Lexus of glendale, santa monica, and thousand oaks. They were surprised at condition of scrapes, but they withheld comment. I had no choice, but to appeal to Lexus of Toyota. I contacted; <date> <contacted to the person of. . > <by > 10/02/19 Toyota customer service rep. Email 10/16/19 Lexus case manager phone 10/18/19 Lexus guest experience center email 10/22/19 Lexus executive office phone 10/24/19 Lexus guest experience center email 10/31/19 Lexus guest experience center email 11/06/19 factory rep. At Lexus of beverly hills. 11/11/19 Lexus executive office email their response was very negative and gave me hardest time to appeal. I believe that I have a right for safety standard guaranteed and decided to appeal.
My sunroof glass exploded while driving on highway this morning. It is a single panel glass. The remaining of the glass curved upward and it makes me think that this is a spontaneous explosion . There are no other damages on the car. Outside temperature was 29 f this morning when it happened.
The safety issue our car has is delayed acceleration. This is a very concerning safety hazard. After reading many online forums, there are many other 09 Ls owners experienced the same problem. We have brought our car to the Lexus dealership a few times and they have not been able to properly fix or even diagnose the cause. There are no lights on the dashboard indicating where the problem lies. All we have been told is that it's in the knock sensor. We have only been told that Lexus has designed the knock sensor in such a way that a check engine light or code will not be given. This is not good for us as the customer. We believe this is a urgent recall problem that Lexus must own and repair. This is a mayor safety hazard that has potential to put the lives of my family or others at stake.

Vehicle blower mortor make loud noise and go bad . Inside interior near door ways begain to peal .
The door panels and dashboard gets sticky during warm days. Also, it has peeled easily when barely scraped. Other Lexus models have already been recalled for same issue.
(hesitation on acceleration) this morning going to work l notice that the car wasn't acting right. I was at the yield left turning lane was turning right before other incoming car come. As I was turning the acceleration didnt go no where as it feel like the car was going up a very high hill. I was so scare that another car coming stright and hit me and some how the acceleration just pick up and start going as it has no power to it. The only reason why im reporting this is because this is a very and could be an dangerous problem not to myself but other to and I have search up this problem on the web and there alot iof people that have this problem beside me. Is there anything your can do to resolve this problem? I dont want to have to drive an Lexus and have to deal with this headache.
Dash panel and door panel melting and shinining.
Several interior parts are melting. Lexus is aware and authorized a repair in certain models, but they have not issued a recall to stand behind their product. I need your assistance in forcing the issue. Finally, I just remembered to google this today and was very surprised by what I discovered.
I have been waiting a long time to get these defective door panels replaced on my Lexus Ls 460,2008 these pannels become sticky molten ,disintegrating in summer when parked out door.
The pistons that hold up the trunk failed. The trunk fell on me and caused injury. These parts should be replace at the expense of Lexus. In addition, the same parts that support the hood, also just failed. This is a safety issue and needs to be addressed in order to prevent further injury.

Lexus issued a recall for several interior parts on my make and model of vehicle as well as others for several years that were made with a faulty interior product which actually melts. There are a couple of parts made of the same material doing the same thing that were not included which I believe should've been. As you will see from the pictures these items are also melting. I have reached out to Lexus but they advised they would not be willing to assist. This was a $70k car. Please help in making sure the manufacturer takes care of this. The steering wheel center is also melting and sticky as well. The date entered below is approximate because it has been happening of a course of time but that's approximately when it first started.
My 2006 Lexus Ls 460 has a dashboard that is sticky and hard to see out of at times when driving. I have also noticed my interior door panels are starting to haze with a white film on them. I have taken extreme care with this vehicle as it receives all the normal maintenance and every 3 weeks a full detail inside and out. I thought it was the chemicals being utilized by the detailers, and I asked they stop using chemicals and only use soap and water. I later found after speaking with them that it is common in a lot of Lexus sedans. I looked it up on the internet and found that there was a a defect in many Lexus' from 2006 to 2008. So I am inquiring here to see if anything can be done about it.
