36 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 06/11/2020

While I was driving one day, my car's braking system loss power to the brakes and I almost hit another car. The car began beeping and will not stop while the car is on. I signed up for drivers. Lexus. Com to obtain the vehicle service history report and the brake actuator assembly was replaced back in 2012 which was paid out of pocket by the previous owner. 8 years later and only 55,000 miles more, the same problem has occurred. There was recall for this very vehicle in 2016 but it has ended in 2018. Now I am stuck out of being able to fix the car due to the $3,833 repair cost I can't afford. The Lexus dealership will not honor the recall since it has passed even though the repair code is due to the recall. I think this is not right, especially it is obvious that this recall has not been fixed. I have gone online and see this is happening to almost every owner of this vehicle from 2007-2015. People who have bought this car should not have to pay for a recalled issue that is still occurring even though the recall campaign has expired. This is not right for all of us, especially me who is experiencing this for the second time on this car. I was lucky in not getting in to an accident but if I was on the freeway when it did, I may as well be dead.

37 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 01/30/2020

The abs actuator assembly has been deemed faulty in several Toyota/Lexus vehicles. Instead of the a recall being issued a warranty enhancement was put in place to address this issue for anyone who took the car to the shop. However with out a recall most people who were owners of these vehicles was not aware to have the part checked and this is a safety issue, a very expensive part that should not normally fail and with out a recall or a letter from Lexus/Toyota a lot of people was put at a disadvantage with being able to address this issue before the warranty enhancement expired. While in motion I received all kind of error lights and a message to pull my vehicle over as soon as possible and notify the dealer. At this time my abs system is compromised and I have no traction control and my abs actuator continues to vibrate even when I turn the car off which is using the battery even more. It pulsates the entire time the car is running also. I feel with Lexus know this is a faulty part it on several of their vehicles customers that was not made aware of this issue or the warranty enhancement should not be held labile with the repair cost which is 1800 for the part and 300-400 for labor. This should be a recall or the warranty enhancement should be extended and all owners of these vehicles should be notified and Lexus/Toyota should compensate with a replacement part all the owners of vehicles which was effected. This took place while my vehicle was in motion on the interstate. My brakes are very hard to use.

38 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 12/10/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2007 Lexus Ls. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal and found it harder to depress than normal. The contact had to use an excessive amount of pressure to apply the brakes and the vehicle hesitated before coming to a stop. In addition, several unknown warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel and there was a continuous beeping noise coming from the dashboard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.

39 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 11/14/2019

My brakes have been making a clicking and tapping sound. They also feel spongy and hard to stop the car. I was driving home and the dash lights "brake malfunction" came on. I continued to my house and upon entering my driveway, the brakes seemed to have difficulty stopping the car. Upon researching the problem and contacting Lexus coorporation, it is a known defect with the brake actuator. I feel that the brake system of a vehicle is considered a safety issue. The national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) has a legislative mandate undertitle 49 of the united states code, chapter 301, motor vehicle safety, to issue federal motor vehicle safety standards (fmvss) and regulations to which manufacturers of motor vehicles and items of motor vehicle equipment must conform and certify compliance. These fmvss are regulations written in terms of minimum safety performance requirements for motor vehicles or items of motor vehicle equipment. These requirements are specified in such a manner that the public is protected against unreasonable risk of crashes occurring as a result of the design, construction, or performance of motor vehicles and is also protected against unreasonable risk of death or injury in the event crashes do occur.

40 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 08/28/2019

At random times when driving our car, the abs, vsc and brake warning lights come on on the dashboard. When this happens the abs system becomes inoperative, and the front brakes can easily lock up during moderately heavy braking. We believe Toyota has purposely designed the system to disable the abs functionality when there is a possible problem detected in the abs accumulator. That does not seem like a good idea. The warning lights sometimes go off for a while (a few days sometimes) and then return at random times and during various driving conditions. The warning lights usually come on when driving at moderate speed, and when not touching the brake pedal. From our research it seems like this issue is well known and documented, and Toyota sometimes repairs the brake system at no cost, however it seems like this should be a required recall. Our car has low miles for the year, only 86k. We have asked for help from Lexus however have not gotten any response so far.

42 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 01/10/2018

When pressing the brake paddle, I get a clicking noises from the brakes. Happy he only has 80,000 miles. Don't know if was in the original recall from Lexus but for the cost of a repair that they knew was going to. E a problem they should all repairs. This is a safety issue and I believe Lexus should have full responsibility.

43 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 01/01/2018

The brake actuator on this vehicle fails and disables the abs system. This is a costly fix for comsumers.

44 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 05/20/2017

My kids and I was traveling in vehicle when I tried to apply the brakes and noticed my car would not stop. I was traveling approx. 25 mph on city street and had to pull over and later get my car towed to dealership. The dealership explained my actuator needs replacing and Lexus will cover the cost, however the actuator caused my brake pump to go out. Lexus have not issued a recall but have put an "extended warranty" in place until 12/2017, my family lives was endangered due to this failure and now Lexus want to charge me $2k to replace the brake booster pump assembly. This part is directly related to the abs system. Lexus representative mike stated "we will pay for actuator ($2k) and you will pay for the pump). My husband contacted Lexus corporate and spoke with kathrina boyles and denied our case and reinterated Lexus will only cover the actuator-she also sent us a denial letter. How is this possible? Lexus do not want to issue a recall on the actuator because that would be them taking blame so they cowardly issued an "extended warranty". My actuator malfunctioning put my family life in extreme danger and caused my pump to malfunction and yet Lexus want me to pay the bill. Do Lexus care that my family life was put in danger? should I contact a lawyer or local news station and tell my dangerous story. My god I couldn't stop the car immediately and swerved all over the place until I was able get car to slow down.

45 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 07/26/2016

Lexus admits that the abs brake accumulator is suspect to internal leaks which can lead to lack of braking ability. Huge safety issue.

46 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 04/12/2016

Brake malfunction error was shown on the speedometer screen with five lights (abs, vsc, brake, traction control light, and warning light). The brake pedal became very soft and the vehicle came to abrupt stops. On other occasions the brake pedal became hard as a rock and also made the vehicle come to a jerking stop. Pulsation and noise were also noted. Dealer advised that the brake actuator part (44050-50110) was the cause of the malfunction and noise. Lexus tech and advisor noted that this is a a very common issue on this particular model - 2007 Ls460.

47 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 05/16/2014

Lexus has a faulty brake actuator design. It's making clunking repetitive noises when brakes are depressed. Lexus knows of this faulty design but refuses to replace because they say it's not a safety issue. The noise alone will drive you crazy. Lexus of naperville, IL wants to charge me $3000. 00 to replace this component. If they do not rectify this problem I will never buy another Lexus again. Guarantee.

48 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 11/03/2009

After new brakes installed by Lexus 11/03/2009, brakes became grabby. When front wheels were wet as in after washing, brakes would make a loud "groaning" noise & lock the driver front wheel causing car to pull to left. After numerous complaints to Lexus, problem still not resolved as of 07/05/2011. Lexus continues to contend that this is normal. . . Even to include the wheel locking. . . Because it is wet. Speed to test essentially rolling only. . . Almost hit a pole in parking lot when stepping on brake after washing.

49 Service Brakes problem of the 2013 Lexus LS

Failure Date: 12/01/2002

My abs brake system warning lights all came on a few days ago, giving me error codes c1253 and c1256. These codes pertain to a manufacturers defect with Lexus, wherein Lexus generated a customer convenience program that said any Ls460 that is less than 10 yrs old or less than 150k miles can be brought to any dealer and have this brake system replaced at Lexus expense. Please see the attached Lexus notice to dealers. My car is 13 yrs old but has only 108k miles; so I asked Lexus corporate to approve my repair and they denied it due to age. This is a safety issue due to a manufacturers defect from Lexus; therefore I should not have to pay for something simply because I have a low mileage car. Lexus should pay for this due to it being a safety issue. Please help me get Lexus to do so. Btw, I am a long-term Lexus customer having purchased 5 Lexus cars.
