Lexus Ls 2007. . Trunk will not open. . . Numerous attempts open the trunk has failed. Several mechanic has tried to open the trunk and couldn`t not open the trunk. Checked the fuses, tried the key fob, the valet switch in the glove compartment was checked. The button under the trunk lid handle did not open the trunk. The trunk release button under the dashboard was unresponsive. Used the physical key in the trunk and it open about 1/4", but still won`t open. The emergency latch in the trunk would not open the trunk either. I case of an emergency, I am unable to gain entrance to the trunk. . . Flat tire, child accidently locked in the trunk. . Etc. The vehicle was stationary when the problem occurred.

The contact owns a 2002 Lexus Ls400. The contact stated that the trunk lid was ajar when it unexpectedly failed and crashed down onto the contacts head. The contact sustained a loss of blood and severe swelling of the head. The contact did not inform the dealer or the manufacturer of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The current mileage was 130,000 and the failure mileage was 120,000. Updated 3/22/11.

I own a 2003 Lexus Ls430. I was opening my trunk lid and while leaning into the trunk, the trunk lid came down on my back. This caused a bad bruise on my back and a lot of pain. The trunk struts have failed.

: the contact stated unless the trunk was raised all the way, the trunk closed so fast resulting in hitting several family members in the head but no one was seriously injured. The contact tried to catch the trunk before it slammed shut which resulted in the contact's finger being pinned in the trunk. The contact had an x-ray performed and the results displayed ligament damage. The dealership was contacted and referred the contact to the manufacturer.
