16 problems related to equipment have been reported for the 2007 Lexus LS460. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Experiencing both the dreaded brake actuator assembly issue as well as the very common mark levinson amplifier issue, on model # 0w480. Was in conversation with Lexus customer satisfaction and they are completely unwilling to step in and do the right thing in assisting me with either, or both, problems. I've owned this vehicle for all of 2 months, and although I understand that I bought it used, as-is with higher mileage, I think that since there was a recent warranty enhancement program issued by Lexus on the brake actuator assembly, and also that the failed amplifier is a very, very well-known issue, where the amplifier all of a sudden one day cuts out and all sound is replaced by an incessant chirping noise that's only stopped by pulling the wiring harness on the amp or a fuse, that Lexus should do the right thing by its loyal customers and replace free of charge. But they will not, because exactly like every other company in the entire world, they simply do not care about the customer or their experience. Sorry, but this is the only way I am able to view my experience.
Brake actutor gone bad. Clicking and poping. Dashboard abs, brake, lights up. Safety problems.
The dash and the doors are melting. The dealer said my car was not covered to get them fixed. I emailed corporate and they said they would pay half. The dash is so shiny is makes it hard to see.
The car would at random excelerate slow or hesitate to move even if put the paddle to the floor. This will happen at random which makes me worry when making a left turn. This is a safety issue and the company needs to recall the cars.
, after oil change car lack of power acceleration. Dealer took the vehicle three times. All together they kept the vehicle 15 days. At the end I was told need to change heads and valves. Cost $8000. Problem is in Lexus mfg. They created the problem and we have to suffer.
Both of my outer rear view mirror discolored , right side getting worse , can see the blue rim on the mirror.
Parked vehicle, pressed start/stop button to turn off engine. Engine stopped. Exited the vehicle and as walking away pressed the lock button on the key fob. Came back from shopping and the engine was running and fob would not unlock the doors. Put new battery in fob. . . And still wouldn't work. Used spare fob. . . It would not open door. I could not shut off engine. Called aaa they came out, took apart the handle and inserted the fob key to gain access and was able to shut off the engine. Lexus service said computer did not show any malfunction though 3 humans witnessed it. .
A few months ago I started noticing that the dashboard of my car was getting shiny. I thought it was just some substance that I could wipe off but found it was very sticky and deteriorating. While driving on the highway this week the reflection was bad enough to cause a distraction, enough that as soon as I got home I searched the internet for what I could do to fix it. I thought mine was an isolated case but found several articles indicating that this is happening to many others as well. While I personally don't expect the manufacturer to shoulder 100% of the burden for the repair, I did want to register my case as it seemed that the manufacturers were not acknowledging this as a common problem in the hopes that they would agree to a formula to address the cost rather than everyone having to negotiate the share of cost individually.
My dashboard is sticky and deteriorating. Very shiny. Glare is dangerous. Some other interior parts are very sticky.
Last year we reported a sticky sheen and powdery residue on all the pebble grain vinyl- includes dashboard, glove box area, strips under the windows and center console between the front seats. Car was taken to Lexus dealer in n. Miami, FL twice with the complaint. They said they did not know what it was. Now there are reports that this is a prevalent problem with toyotas and Lexus. The sheen is causing sun glare problem as well as overall look and sticky or powdery texture. Reports are online as well as nbc news television this past Monday, oct. 13th.
My 2007 Lexus LS 460 door panels as well as the dash get extremely sticky and shiny when the vehicle is parked in a sunny hot place. I have spoken with a Lexus representative and was told that even though they know about the problem and have extended the warranty for some of their vehicles, my VIN number was not one of the 'lucky' ones that would be covered. As some of the other complaints have stated, the shiny dash could be a safety hazard. Lexus knows they used inferior products and will not honor their commitment for excellence they claim for their cars. I am very disillusioned with Lexus, a luxury car should not be having problems because of cheap and inferior materials.
The dash board surface has become gummy and the reflection of the shiny, gummy surface on the windshield very frequently affects the visibility and impairs my capacity to see safely, specially on very sunny days. There has not been an incident yet, but I wanted to report this because I am afraid of the potential danger of an accident due to impaired visibility. I began noticing the dashboard"s surface deterioration about two years ago, when the warranty had already expired.
Dashboard and part of doors (at bottom of window) are very sticky when the car is in the sun and sometimes reflects sunlight into your eyes.
Dashboard is defective and "melting. " surface has become reflective and as a result of the defect causing glare on the windshield which makes it difficult if not impossible to see under certain lighting conditions.
The contact owns a 2007 Lexus LS 460. The contact felt that the park assist feature was unsafe. The VIN, engine size and number of cylinders were unknown. There had been no failure to date. The current mileage was 5,000.
The front windows have a serious wind noise issue in all earlier LS model( that's what the dealer told me) upgrades have been done to it by the dealer & the problem still exists. 2 other upgrades could be done but they'll reduce the wind noise by 15% & can't be eliminated! the design has a problem. Many people have complained about it on many websites like edmonds,. . . The wind noise is very annoying & distracting. Another problem with all these cars is the wheels that chip & plating comes off of them after a while.
