I noticed clicking sounds from the rear of the car while in motion, within days a number of warning light appeared on the dash stating: check abs vsc brake system. . Stop the car in a safe place and contact a dealer. The clicking has increased dramatically. A mechanic stated it is the brake actuator assembly.
The contact owns a 2014 Lexus Ls460. While driving approximately 30 mph, a burnt odor developed inside the cabin of the vehicle. The contact did not know the origin of the odor. The contact noticed smoke coming from the passenger side door panel near the location of the courtesy light. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing, but no defects were found that may have caused the small fire around the light, which damaged the leather on the door panel. I had remarked to the local dealer that it made a clunk noise when starting the vehicle and depressing the brake pedal. This was at 63k mi when I purchased it. I was told it was normal. Approximately 1 year and 10k mi. After I started to experience squealing when braking. I was told by the dealer that no issues were found and that it was most likely caused by cheap aftermarket brakes. I brought the vehicle in for the brakes again and was told that they found nothing wrong, probably just cheap pads. Approximately 3k mi. Later when driving at approx. 35mph. Warning lights illuminated, and stated to take immediately to the dealer. When I took it I was informed there were codes regarding an electrical malfunction and leak, but they found no evidence of the problem. They reset the car and attempted to re-illuminate the warning lights, which they were unable to do. Approx. 1k mi. Later the warning light re-illuminated. When I spoke to the dealer they asked if I had any driveability, or braking issues, which I did not, the car drove and braked normally. I was told they could look at the codes again and reset them, but they would most likely come back on again if it was some other type of malfunction. I was planning on putting the car away for the winter and addressing the issue then, the dealer agreed that it was most likely the best to bring it in prior to taking it off the road for winter. Once again approx. 1k mi. Later a constant beeping started while driving shortly after a hard braking incident. It stopped, but started again 2 wks later while driving home as I approached an exit ramp. I depressed the brake pedal to find I had no braking ability. Pedal to the floor. I entered the 1/16th of a mile ramp at 65mph. I swiftly downshifted enough that I made the turn at the end t on to my street with only minimal fishtail and found that the vsc was still functioning.
This vehicle seems like it was damaged from the start. Ever since this car was purchased from prestige Lexus NJ, it's just been giving us problems all the time. It seems like this car was factory damaged, or the dealership rewinded the mileage on the car because a car at 30,000 miles shouldn't have problems constantly. We payed a lot for the car and plus extra 2. 000$ for warranty doesn't help at all, these company's just want money, they never help. We drive this car very cautiously and once we were driving on the highway and our air compressor broke and our car stopped in th middle of the highway and we had a tow truck take it to Lexus. Many time this car gives us problems, the rotors we had to change our selfs, we had warranty but didn't help at all they dealerships just took more and more cash from us. The suspension then broke, then the axle links after that the car has problems driving it shakes side to side. There was always this one problem where you would have the headlights off the gas pedal was delayed, when you pushed on it the car took like 4-5 sec to actually drive( we still have that issue) we take our car to the dealer but they never actually fix it, after we leave the next day there is another issue and it's constantly it's very annoying ! this car is 100% either factor damaged or the dealer is hiding something point blank. We just want the dealer to take the car back and give us a new Lexus Ls460l that's not damaged or messed around by the dealer so we can feel safe and not worry about the car when we drive it, because we don't know what's next the ac doesn't work nothing works it's factory damaged 100%. Please help us and give us a new car that's not factory damaged or messed around with the dealer. Thank you.
