1 Steering Failed problem of the 2007 Lexus LS460

Failure Date: 09/02/2012

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Ls460. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph and attempting a left turn, the steering wheel seized, causing the contact to crash into a pole. There were no warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. Upon impact, all of the air bags deployed causing injuries to the driver and a passenger's knees. The police were notified and a police report was filed. The front driver side panel was damaged and the windshield was cracked. The vehicle was not able to be driven and was towed to a repair center. The dealer was notified of the incident who advised the contact that there were no recalls for the steering failure and that a representative would be out to further assess the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 121,000.
