My dash panel and door handles are melting in the sun. The dash panel is especially problematic as it is extruding a shiny clear tar like substance that causes a significant glare visibility problem while driving into the sun, causing me to nearly miss another vehicle turning in front of me at an intersection.

A few months ago I started noticing that the dashboard of my car was getting shiny. I thought it was just some substance that I could wipe off but found it was very sticky and deteriorating. While driving on the highway this week the reflection was bad enough to cause a distraction, enough that as soon as I got home I searched the internet for what I could do to fix it. I thought mine was an isolated case but found several articles indicating that this is happening to many others as well. While I personally don't expect the manufacturer to shoulder 100% of the burden for the repair, I did want to register my case as it seemed that the manufacturers were not acknowledging this as a common problem in the hopes that they would agree to a formula to address the cost rather than everyone having to negotiate the share of cost individually.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Lexus Ls460. The contact stated that the surface of the dashboard had begun to deteriorate causing a sticky substance to be present. While operating the vehicle light shining on the dash created a glare which impaired the vision of the driver. The vehicle was was taken to the dealer who indicated that the problem was caused by a chemical reaction in the dashboard and the dashboard would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000. Jft.
Driver side front window has a whistling noise that is a hazard due to the db level at 55 mph. I have spoken several times with clear lake Lexus and they have not offered a solution. This appears to be a very common issue with the 2008 Lexus 460 (Lexus talk). There appears to be a fix by installing a triangle between the mirror and door.
The interior of car is melting, sticky to touch, and cracking. Lexus will only replace if I make contribution of $3000+.
My car has a sticky dashboard and door panels as well as the black button that opens the trunk when the weather is hot or humid. Anything that is made of that material is sticky and gets this weird black stuff everywhere. The shiny reflective surface that the dashboard is a safety hazard for myself and other drivers. Every time I get in my car I cough, so I am afraid that harmful chemicals may be emitted. Please help investigate!.
