One problem related to tire tread/belt has been reported for the 1997 Lexus LX450. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving on the highway the read on one of the vehicle's tires separated yet the tire remained inflated. The tread separation caused some damage to the body of the vehicle. The tire manufacturer was contacted and inspected the tires. They concluded that the didn't notice anything unusual about the tires.
