Engine Failure problems of the 2001 Lexus RX300

Two problems related to engine failure have been reported for the 2001 Lexus RX300. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine Failure problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

Oil sludge cause engine failure in Lexus Rx300. Need to replace short block, overhead gasket set, valve covers,heads and cams for an estimated value of $14k. Car only has 95k miles on it and I changed the oil every 4-5k miles by a Toyota/Lexus auto-mechanic.

2 Engine Failure problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2003

Oil sludge in 3. 0l engine causing engine failure.
