Tire Sidewall Problems of Lexus RX300

The contact owns a 2002 Lexus Rx300. The vehicle has cooper discoverer h/t, size p225/70r16 tires. The contact stated that all four tires cracked around the rim and were gradually losing air. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the cracks. The tire failure mileage was less than 10,000. Updated 10/24/07.

2/1/03 wfs 2002 Lexus RX 300 with 1800 miles turning into parking lot hit the curb traveling slowly and the right front tire blew out. Tire make p225/70 r26 made by integrity this event has never happen in our experience of combined 70 years of driving. Ts.

Bridgestone, dueler ht 687, p225/70r16 dot elwa, original equipment on a 2000, Lexus RX 300 with 25000 miles. First blowout on left rear tire occurred in February, 2001 at highway speed. Second blowout on right rear tire occurred on 12 August, 2001 at highway speed. No accident. Consumer states speed was 15 mph.

We have had 3 tire failures within 20 months of owning our Lexus RX-300. Goodyear is telling us that Lexus should not use this tire on an SUV, it is a car tire, and use of this tire isn't approved by goodyear. The tire sidewall is making contact with the pavement because the SUV is heavier than a car. Lexus has since switched to bridgestone truck tires on the Rx300. We would like Lexus to pay for our tires to be changed out to safer, appropriate tires. (dot number: m65l tiresize: 225/70r16).

Consumer was driving through a park and her left front tire blew out on the sidewall. Tires are made for highway driving only, and vehicle's manual does not identify the tires that are on the car. Dealership say the tires are factory installed.
