Those focused headlights, often with a blue tint, are dangerous to drivers who can be temporarily blinded by their extreme brightness. The situation is made worse in wet conditions when reflections intensify the problem. Also, drivers who wear eyeglasses (including me), have even more significant problems in regaining vision after being blinded by oncoming vehicle with these focused headlights. Growing use of the headlights by automakers is quickly spreading this dangerous situation. This is not a complaint about my vehicle. I believe the vehicle info provided below is the type that uses these headlights. A number a manufacturers use these headlights now, also BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti among others.

The contact owns a 2005 Lexus Rx330. The contact stated that water was entering into the driver side headlight. The dealer was contacted and they advised him that the failure was normal and referred the contact to the owners manual. The headlight eventually failed completely after nothing was done to repair the failure. The vehicle was inspected a second time by the dealer and they advised him that the entire unit would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and they advised him that they will review the case and contact him at a later date. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

The contact owns a 2005 Lexus Rx330. He stated that there was a massive amount of condensation in the driver side head lamp which caused the light bulb. The dealer was notified and the repair was made; however, he noticed that the passenger side lights intensity was different from the driver's side. The dealer stated that the lights were aligned correctly and should not affect the intensity. The contact provided photos to prove the difference in the driver and passenger side lights. I have a Lexus Rx330 awd (2005) with hids in NJ. The vehicle is really good and so is the headlights. No complaints about the ride and luxury. But its disappointing to share my experiences and the sleepless nights I am having for the last 2 months. The hid headlights were stolen twice and I am having scary nights after spending 40k on this luxury SUV. One of the big reason why I went for RX 330 from the other brands was the known quality of service and reliability of the Lexus brand. But now I am totally disappointed. Lexus should notify everyone who has the xenon headlights to do the enhanced security for headlights. But they didn't do anything until I contacted them. Meanwhile I contacted Lexus after the 2 thefts and they installed the data dots and anti theft brackets which they say may prevent thefts. It has been done a week back and hope thieves may not steal it again seeing the data dots. These datadots wont prevent theft but they just warn the thief. Extra brackets makes their job a bit hard, but they can easily take it by doing more damage to the hood. First theft - 5000 k loss second theft - 6000 k loss I have only this suggestion. 1)no one can prevent thefts. My only suggestion is Lexus or dealers should warn the customers in NJ and NY about the potential headlight thefts or they should notify all owners to install some security enhancements for these headlights. 2)why customers risk their life and peaceful nights by spending 40k for luxury vehicles and again risk to spend 250-500k for deductibles every month. I really worry that next time insurance company may be unwilling to give insurance to my vehicle telling the area is a high risk area. 3)removing a live electrical system from an advanced micro computer controlled vehicle and the theft alarms just sits dumb. I cannot believe why this vehicle and the headlights was designed like this. 4)the enhanced brackets should be some strong metallic stuffs(now I guess its plastic).

Lexus RX 330 stolen headlights, this has happened twice.

I leased a Lexus 2005 RX 330 on November 30, 2004. Since I have had the car the car has been vandalized two times once on December. 12 and again on January. 22. Each time there has been in excess of 5,000 worth of damage. Each time it is theft involving of xenon headlights. This is a obvious manufactures defect and the car should be recalled. I urge this done!!!.

Car is a 2004 Lexus Rx330. It has hid headlights. These are the worst headlights I have ever had on a car. They only light up road a very short distance. Especially on the drivers side. Brought it back to the dealer. They said there is nothing they can do. Thats the way they were made. This is a real saftey issue. I never would of bought this car if I new this.

While driving at night, the consumer noticed that the headlights did not illuminate normal at low beam. Please provide further details. When driving in the hills the headlights only illuminate to 20 to 25 feet. The illuminated portion is very bright and the non-illuminated portion is pitch black.

The headlights have high intensity beams. Consumer can't see the turns coming up or the road. The road illumination is 35 feet, and the standard called for 150 regular lights. Dealer stated they can't be adjusted.

The headlights are my new Rx330 have such limited sight distance that I'm afraid with the deer population in my area, there is not enough braking time. I have brought this in to the dealer and they are aware of the distinct cut off in lighting but say they are to standards and not many people are complaining. I feel this is a safety issue with my children in the car and am still complaining.

The headlights on a 2004 Rx330 have cost me a lawsuit against dealer. Drove car second night, 3 miles, on country roads. I had motion sickness after that experience. Every time I hit a bump the car lights would bounce, as if on a spring. The line from lights goes across center of windshield at eye level. The driver can't see beyond 20 ft. When looking beyond 20 ft. You see total darkness. When passing a person on the side of the road you can only see them from the knees down. Very scary driving the RX 330 at night.

High-intensity headlights on 2004 Lexus RX 330 do not provide adequate night vision yet are set according to factory specifications according to manufacturer. Illuminated distance in front of the vehicle at "normal" beam does not provide adequate obstacle recognition and braking time even at low speeds of 25-30 mph on dark roads.

The head lights on my 2004 Lexus Rx330 are so concentrated with little or no diffusion of light that when the road is not flat and there is a dip I can't see beyond 20 yards. When the high beams are on there are shadows through the entire field of view. There are distant lines of demarcation between light and dark. I feel that it is a real safety issue.

The high intesity lights (hil) do not illuminate enough down the road for the consumer to see safely. Most of the light illuminates out to the side of the vehicle.

Consumer has 3 major complaints on the 2004 Lexus RX 330: sun glare from the dashboard obstructing visibility. The dealer is aware of the problem but indicated there was no way to fix them.
