1 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2004 Lexus RX330

Failure Date: 04/01/2017

As of 3/18/2016 I purchased an new radiator for a total of $945 at mcgrath Lexus dealership in chicago on division st because the old radiator was leaking. As of 3/31/2017 the new radiator is now leaking and the car would not start because the car was over heating. As of 4/1/2017 the timing belt and water pump for the steering will needs to be replaced. Today 4/1/2017 mcgrath Lexus dealer stated I will cost at least $1200 with labor included for them to repair. After further research on recalls for my 2004 Lexus Rx330 I discovered these required repairs are Lexus deaker recalls. Why would mcgrath Lexus charge me if these are recalls on my Lexus.

2 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2005 Lexus RX330

Failure Date: 08/17/2015

Dealer mentioned power steering leak in 2014, again in 2015 and previous owner of vehicle took it in to have it looked at due to complaint of problems with power steering in 2012 with water pump and timing belt were changed. My local dealer is stating the repair will cost at least $1000 to repair. Despite recalls on the internet, it seems that the investigation of the 2005 Lexus RX 330 needs to include vehicle manufactured in canada (mine states canada). Please help I want to be safe driving my family in this vehicle.

3 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2004 Lexus RX330

Failure Date: 06/30/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Lexus Rx330. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, a loud abnormal noise emitted from the engine as the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on two separate occasions and power steering fluid was dispensed into the reservoir however, the failure persisted. The mechanic informed that the power steering pump and power steering rack would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 147,000. Js.

4 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2004 Lexus RX330

Failure Date: 07/14/2014

My steering started getting stiff and making a grinding sound without warning. It would then disappear after driving for about 5 minutes. I noticed this seems to be a common problem with the vehicle at the 90,000 mark. I bought a Lexus because I thought the vehicle would be solid but it seems like everything is starting to go. I had to replace the sunroof, air conditioning pump, radiator and transmission after hitting 80,000. I don't want to put any more $$$ into the car at this point because it doesn't seem worth. One problem after the next.

5 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2005 Lexus RX330

Failure Date: 10/13/2012

I am having serious quality problems with my 2005 Rx330. The vehicle is kept in the garage and being taken care of like a family member. I took the SUV to a Lexus dealer for routine maintenance and was told that the stearing column was leaking and need to be replaced - approximate cost $1800. I was also told the front differential was leaking and need to be replaced - cost another $1000. This is not the end! approximately six months ago my water pump failed at the middle of a busy intersection, and I had to replace my water pump, timing belt, drive belts, etc only at 65k miles - cost $1200. Why every major key components are failing so early? I drove a car made by a competitor upto 110k miles without any of these issues. Lexus/Toyota is using defective/cheap parts at the expense and safety of consumers. I would recommend starting an investigation against Lexus/Toyota for faulty steering and power train components in RX, and based on the investigation, start a recall if needed. I reached out to Lexus in the past, but they don't acknowledge any quality problems with Rx330; however, when I searched the internet, I see hundreds of owners have the same issues and they are helpless. Lexus will not do anything, and therefore, we need NHTSA's help to push Lexus to recall Rx330 steering and power train components.
