Auto was parked in lot, ignition off "in park". Started auto, put gear in reverse and auto accelerated very rapidly, uncontrolled, down one curb, up another curb and finally stopped in grassy area having gone about 150 feet.

The hardtop will not go down on the one side - apparently the motors that bring down the hardtop can burn out, causing the issue. For higher-end car, this should not happen so soon. Dealer indicated this was a $3,000-plus repair. I have since been driving a Sc430 coupe!.

Consumer complaint concerning the 2004 Sc430 welded firewall. The consumer explained to the dealer that the vehicle pulled to the right while driven. This problem has not been resolved by the dealer. At the 10000 mile checkup the body was welded at the left firewall and the left side bumper was then properly attached. The consumer feels that the vehicle was sold in an unsafe condition.
