Electrical System problem #1

High voltage alert and vehicle shuts down and unable to drive and car locks up should be recall# 23s53 and NHTSA campaign # 23v-626 it has not been repaired yet and this is very frustrating has happened 4-5 times last incident happened on 11/7/2025 inside of a car wash & had to get towed.

Electrical System problem #2

Emergency escape issue like many modern cars the Aviator was designed with electric opening doors. Of the four doors, only the front driver side door has a manual override in case of emergency. That means if a major accident was to occur on that one door and disable the vehicle the other 3 doors do not have a way to exit. Why would the NHTSA allow a vehicle on a road that at a minimum doesn't have a override for left side and right side or more than one door?.

Electrical System problem #3

My Aviator was parked with trunk open to load groceries from shopping cart. Must have stepped under bumper such that it triggered the kick sensor to close the tailgate. The problem is, it did not detect spouse’s body, did not stop the tailgate from closing & as a result, hit him on the head. He jolted out of the way & the tailgate continued to close all the way. This is serious safety issue!.

Electrical System problem #4

I had damage to my electrical system caused by rodents chewing wires. Upon researching this issue I have found that Ford motor company has used soy-based wire coatings which has led to this being a consistent problem with this vehicle. Not only did this cost me $1,500+ dollars to repair which is not covered by warranty it clearly presents a safety hazard in a hybrid vehicle with a high voltage system. It isn't right that Ford motor company sticks me with this bill nor is is right that this is allowed to go on without them being responsible to replace affected wiring.

Electrical System problem #5

The car has stopped electrically with no response from any switches when trying to switch on. This has happened before couple of times and once it switched on by itself after 5 min, the second incident it had to be towed away from road after no response in 2 hours. This time it happened like every time and no response from electrical systems and blocked the road.

Electrical System problem #6

1- abs/braking issue the abs system appears to be malfunctioning. On multiple occasions, typically once or twice a week, when I apply the brakes, the tires lock up and cause the vehicle to skid. This happens most often when descending hills or backing up on a sloped driveway. The wheels lock and slide until I release the brake pedal, posing a serious safety concern. 2- severe water leak interior roof area there is a significant water leak from the interior roof, specifically from the top center area near the rearview mirror, every time it rains. I’ve taken the vehicle to the dealer multiple times. They confirmed that all drain tubes are clear, all seals are functioning properly, and no water appears to be entering from the sliding moonroof. However, the issue persists. Water pours down like a waterfall through the vent (as shown in the attached photo), soaking the center console and creating an unsafe driving condition. I have also recorded videos showing the water intrusion. Living in guam, where it rains frequently, this has become a major problem. 3- malfunctioning interior ceiling light the ceiling light on the driver's side (center dome light) turns on randomly and often remains on until manually switched off. The dealer has inspected this issue but reported no faults found. Despite this, the problem continues to occur intermittently. 4- rear camera display issue when shifting into reverse, the monitor occasionally turns completely blue, and the backup camera does not function. The blue screen remains until the vehicle is turned off and restarted. This happens sporadically and disrupts safe maneuvering.

Electrical System problem #7

After dealer did 3 software updates for recalls I experienced 2 safety issues: 1) wiper blades now do not recline to the proper position. Right blade goes down past windshield & hits the plastic piece making an extremely loud whack. Left blade does not lower to proper position & obstructs the lower view of windshield & the washer on left blade no longer works. 2) more concerning is while driving in reverse (in rain & dark), the car came to a complete & sudden halt practically giving me whiplash & making an extremely loud crash sound. Car came to such a hard & sudden stop I thought I had hit a wall even though there was 1) no warning light displayed or sound to indicate an obstruction or pending crash 2) nothing displayed on rear camera. Got out to see what I hit & why car stopped but found nothing wrong. Proceeded to continue backing up & it happened again. The car went about 3’ more then same thing happened. Then another 3’ it happened a 3rd time. It jolted my neck 3 times leaving me in pain. This incident was extremely frightening given I’m a handicapped driver & could have been stranded somewhere alone unable to drive the car at all. I suspect these 2 safety issues are related to Lincoln’s recall remedy & software updates as nothing else was done on my vehicle during my recent service other than replacing the front grill emblem.

Electrical System problem #8

Brakes failed, car crashed, imminent crash warning system did not come on and air bags did not deploy in direct frontal crash.

Electrical System problem #9

4/19/22 staten island NY. As I was getting off of the hylan blvd exit from the si expressway traveling toward NJ, I made a left turn. While the wheel was turned the power steering failed, locking up the steering wheel. These alerts came on the dashboard: hill start assist warning, service steering, pre-collision assist not available. The car was towed to dana Ford and the technician says that a high voltage fuse burned out. They also stated that they wanted to find the cause for the fuse to burn out before replacing it. This was two weeks ago.

Electrical System problem #10

The main "sync" dashboard screen, 3 different times within 2 weeks, after warm engine was re-started, the screen was looking like video was completely out of "sync" of "vertical hold", mostly vertical, in sections, making the screen unuseable: the vertical image was rolling in the vertical axis. After several to many minutes of driving & re-starting the secreen went back to "normal".

Electrical System problem #11

A warning appears on the dash "stop safely now" and the vehicle rapidly comes to a complete stop and is unable to be moved. This has occurred on three occasions, during 2 of which the car stalled in an active driving lane on a highway, resulting in life threatening situation. The app said "high voltage battery warning" triggered by "another event". Being investigated by Lincoln, who is re-acquiring the vehicle due to inability to appropriately diagnose and resolve the issue.

Electrical System problem #12

This is brand new vehicle with 3,000+ miles on it. The first day owned it, around 12-21, the vehicle would not go into drive. A warning message appeared that said 'high-voltage battery warning", "the hybrid powertrain system has detected a fault". It would also flash "full accessory power active". After some internet searches I found a thread in Ford that said "let the car sit for 20mins and it will restart". . Read more...

Electrical System problem #13

Door ajar notification continues to illuminate when all doors are secure. First incident happened on 1/25/2022. Was sent in for repair and returned on 2/2/2022. Issue happened again while driving on the interstate on 3/10/2022, and is back in for repair. This notification causes domes lights to continue to illuminate which is a danger at night, and will not allow for doors to lock.

Electrical System problem #14

Lincoln Aviators 2020-2024 using the sync 3 radio screen. Have a issue not switching to dimmed/night mode during night time driving. This is a major safety issue because when driving a night you have a super bright display inches from your eyes creating a blinding issue at night. This issue has been reported by many folks, a simple google search will reveal this. Unless NHTSA steps if to doing something 10s of thousands Lincoln Aviators 2020-2024 are on the road with blinded drivers.
