The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available and informed the contact that the part needed to be ordered. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

2 Back Over Prevention problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2024

The contact owns a 2022 Lincoln Aviator. The contact stated that after switching to the reverse position the backup camera image failed to display and while driving approximately five mph in reverse the vehicle crashed into the front end of a second vehicle. During the crash the occupant in the second vehicle sustained an unspecified injury which did not require immediate medical attention. No further information was available. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The contact indicated that the backup camera was previously replaced due to inoperability. The failure mileage was 28,000.

3 Back Over Prevention problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2024

The contact owns a 2022 Lincoln Aviator. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v342000 (back over prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was reversing at approximately 3 mph, the back over prevention camera screen turned blue. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent however, after turning off and restarting the vehicle on several occasions the vehicle regained normal functionality.
