1 Wheel problem of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator

Failure Date: 07/01/2024

The vehicle began making a low tapping noise in the front passenger side approximately 2 months ago, which has gradually become louder. It is much more apparent when driving at slower speeds. More recently the tapping noise has been accompanied by a squeaking noise when the wheel is turned, when driving over bumps, when removing the foot from the brake at a red light, when putting the vehicle into drive after being parked all day, as well as when anyone enters/exits the parked vehicle (leading me to believe it has something to do with the suspension). The front brakes were recently replaced and everything appeared normal when the wheel was removed by mechanic. Shields underneath the vehicle were also checked and are all appropriately tight, not loose anywhere. Exact problem remains unknown at this time, vehicle is scheduled for diagnostics at the dealership in just over a month from now.

2 Wheel problem of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator

Passenger front cv joint ball bearings went bad after only 2800 miles on the car. The problem was noted with noise while driving at around 40 mph or higher. This could have been a big problem if I had not noticed the issue and researched the likely cause.

6 Wheel problem of the 2005 Lincoln Aviator

Failure Date: 03/15/2011

The left rear wheel bearing has broke 3 times on my vehicle. The first time, I brought it to Lincoln to replace the wheel bearing at 28,000mi on 10-10-07. Then it broke again (left rear bearing) about 52000mi last year 5-20-10 and was replaced at a local garage where they said the bearing was "shattered" and I was lucky to make it to the repair shop. The bearing has since broke again on 3-15-11 left rear. I have not taking it to be repaired yet. My car has 62k mi on it.

7 Wheel problem of the 2003 Lincoln Aviator

Failure Date: 11/01/2004

Multiple failures in 2003 Lincoln Aviator. Difficulty turning , starting, jerk in steering wheel, vibration in tires, gear changer loose and ect. The consumer purchased the vehicle with 18 inch rims but Ford requires 17 inch rims to be legal (oem) equipment. The consumer felt that this was maliciously dishonest sale of an automobile. The side fender had a gauge on the inside, the rear storage section leather ripped, the tire monitor system kept coming on with a warning sign from the computer of a mechanical defect, difficulty starting the vehicle, jerking in the steering wheel, noise in the steering wheel, noise in heating/vent bubbling, passenger front windows were rattling, there was motor noise upon acceleration, front end noise, rear hatch rattled and was shaking, the wheels squealed and rubbed, the doors did not automattically lock when the vehcile was engaged into drive, and the engine knock as if it were running rough. When the service tech tried to shift the gear lever out of park, the entire gear lever had come apart in pieces. The consumer stated that the vehicle was worse than ever. Currently when the brakes were applied the steering would go out of control, jerk left and right, shaked out of control and unable to steer.
