2019 Lincoln Continental- I am writing regarding the subject recall (safety recall notice 22551 NHTSA recall 22v644) involving a cloudy rear view camera on my vehicle. I have checked periodically to have my vehicle repaired. Each time, for at least 10 months, I get the same response --- supply chain issues. In the meantime, millions of new vehicles across many brands are being manufactured with superior rear view cameras. It is time for Ford/Lincoln to stop delaying fixing this problem and get it done. Any aid you can supply in bringing this to a responsible and quick closure would be much appreciated.

Rearview mirror was dark and consumer was unable to see. Mirror had an automatic dimmer process in which the material faded into the mirror. This caused poor visibility. Consumer drive vehicle to dealer, and mechanic informed consumer that this vehicle was not on recall, and warranty expired. Consumer had to pay for parts and labor.

I have contacted Lincoln about the paint and mirrors and they will not do anything about it. The mirror is on the driver's side is discolored and distored. I have to take the car to an autobody shop per dealer and was told that it was a defected paint job from the Lincoln. They will not do anything about it. Dt.

Both mirrors are discolored and distorted, presenting a safety hazard.
Original mirror was replaced by the dealer, when the replacement mirror failed one year and one month later the dealer has refused to replace it. Even though he admits there is a problem with the design of this mirror the replacement has only a one year warranty . The manufacturer now places the burden on me to continue to replace the mirror as it fails, even when they know the mirror is of a bad design. When the mirror fails it is most difficult to see into it .
My car was factory equipped with a donnelly electronics electrochromic inside rearview mirror. This mirror darkens when it sences the light from a car behind you. Since 1996 when I bought this car new, this mirror has failed 4 times. When it fales half the mirror will darken and the other half will not. This is extremely hard on the eyes at night, since the mirror has no manual adjustment. It's put up with that or nothing. Every 1995 and newer Lincoln Continental I have seen has a bad mirror. Mine has been replaced for times now, and now not only this time did it do the same thing again, it made a popping sound while I was driving home from work, cracked and then blew fluid all over the inside of my car. I have done some research into this and there are 2 companys that make such a mirror. However, donnelly's are the only ones that fail. I have 2 other car with such mirror systems and after 10 years there are still on there orginal mirrors. I would think that it would be my car except for the fact that every Lincoln Continentall 1995 and newer has a bad mirror. 1995 is when Ford motor CO. Switched from the other brand to donnelly corp. On the Continental's only. This is a real saftey hazzard driving with a mirror with 2 different reflective surfaces, and now with the mirror cracking and blowing fluid all over my car I do think that this matter must be looked into. I do think that donnelly has a quality control issue but refuses to address it. I have contacted jules roman from there company and told him of this and they pretty much told me tough luck, and did not feel that there was any safety concern. I was also told that I am the only one with this problem. However the parts manager at my local Lincoln Mercury dealer says different. I think that if you looked at Ford's warranty clames on these cars you might find a different story. Or better yet pick 5 of these cars at random, I garantee that the donnelly mirror will be bad. I thank you for you help. . . . Mike.
Purchased vehicle in TX and almost immediately had to relocate to DE. When wifes turn to drive, she is 5'2" she could not adjust rt sideview mirror enough laterally to be usable and she would not drive vehicle. I assumed it needed adjestment. We had 3 previous Ford vehicles and this item adjusted ok. Took it to dealer in DE for service and to get mirror adjusted. Svcmgr advised they have had several complaints about this and Lincoln told him it was a design defect. Called Lincoln customer svc detailed the problem and I was told Lincoln would get back to me in a day or two. It is now 2 wks. Later. I specifically asked for their comments prior to filing this complaint.

The rear view mirror and side view mirror contained film which resulted in poor visibility.
The entire computer system which controls the warning indicator lights has been in for repair six times and is still not fixed. We get rescue system failure, service engine soon, low washer fluid and a variety of other safety warnings. We cannot drive the car and be certain we are not in jeopardy. The dealership has told us they currently have multiple Lincoln's in for this problem and the home office has advised them that they do not know what is causing this, but that they suspect florida's "heat and humidity". I can understand that but, with vehicle safety warnings false or inoperable the car is simply not safe. We are attempting to negotiate out of the car under florida's lemon law but Lincoln is not willing to address or fix this problem.
Problems seeing in the rear when backing up vehicle. There was no vision when backing. (this occurred with the use of the mirrors).
