Side/window Air Bag Problems of Lincoln Continental

The side air bags on the front seats keep spitting open. They are not deploying but you can see airbag is exposed. Worried they will deploy unexpectedly.

Driver side seat bracket broke off when getting into car. Dealer took car and repaired seat. Side airbag case was also split and airbag was visible to the eye. This was in June 2017. Same exact thing happened last week. Driver side seat (left side again) broke off as I entered the vahicle. Case of airbag did not break open. Dealer picked up and repaired again. Took car out today after getting it back. Now seat cooling fan is extremely loud in the seat itself. It must be hitting something inside as it rotates to cool the seats no have made a recording. The car was stationary and not moving when thenincidents happened. I have called the dealer again this evening and left message to return my call.

The caller sai while wife driving 55-60 mph side/curtain airbag on the passenger's side deployed. Dealer said a rock might have hit the sensor and made it deploy. Manufacturer said they could offer no help for free. The caller said there was a safety update 03i44000 in 2003, not a recall concerning crash sensor.

Consumer states air bag light remains lit. Vehicle repaired by dlr who replaced the entire harness assembly. Light came on again. Dlr advised consumer that air bag will not function properly if light is on. Dlr can not determine root of problem.

Consumer was traveling about 40mph on highway and a very loud noise came from side, passenger's side eairbag exploded. Also, there was smoke inside of vehicle, powder was everywhere. There were no injuries. Consumer could not get any help from the manufacturer due to dealer found a very small dent under the passenger side of vehicle and stated that the deployment was justified.

While traveling 40 mph passenger's side airbag deployed unexpectedly. No prior warning before incident. No accident occurred, the dealer found a small dent under the car and stated this could have caused the airbag to deploy, dealer refused to pay for any of the damages.

Was driving approximately 40mph when air bag on the passenger's side door deployed without any warning. Took vehicle to dealership & mechanic is going to replace the door & the seat.
