1 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2012

Driving at 55 mph the vehicles wrench light came on and it went into a reduced rpm mode, causing the vehicle to lose all power and go from 55 to 10 mph rapidly. Put on the hazard lights and pulled off of the highway. Not wanting to turn the vehicle off I drove slowly to a mechanic where he ran a code check and the codes read p2107 and p2110. Told it could be one of 2 problems, throttle body or pcm. We replaced the throttle body. The car began after about a week to do the same thing about once a week. Turning off the car and restarting seem to fix the problem. About a 3 weeks later the same thing occurred however this time the engine light also appeared and would not clear with a restart. Same codes appeared p2107 and p2110. Next replaced the pcm, this did not fix the problem. The Ford dealership ran diagnostics and could not find the problem. This tends be a safety issue that Lincoln Ford are trying to ignore. Rear end collisions could occur when this occurs. A safety bulletin needs to be released and Ford needs to make things right.
