Side/window Air Bag problems of the 2005 Lincoln LS

The contact owns a 2005 Lincoln Ls. The contact stated while driving at 15-20 mph, the driver's side air bag deployed without warning or impact. The contact sustained injuries to neck and medical attention was provided. The vehicle was towed to a relatives home. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The contact called the insurance company to notify the of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

I was driving on a county road in colorado to pickup some food. I was not going very fast because I did not know where I would have to turn. The side impact air bag deployed. I did not hit anything and nothing hit me. I have done everything that the car company has asked and now they will not take responsibility. The car has not been fixed yet.

The vehicle was sent to a collision inspection facility, and,they were unable to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was sent to a different dealer. The second dealer stated that the side air bag deployed due to debris hitting the undercarriage of the vehicle. The current mileage was 25,000 miles.

The passenger side impact airbag deployed without an accident while I was driving. Ford has refused to fix the vehicle claiming that I "must have had an accident because of the diagnostic computer code". Only the one bag deployed, damaging the seat and the passenger side seat belt retractor molding. No one was sitting in the passenger seat at the time.
