6 Equipment problem of the 2002 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 01/04/2016

2002 Lincoln Ls , air bag warning light continues to stay on. Have had to drive car for 3 yrs like this while having fear of air bag not working in case of an accident. 3 mechanics have tried to fix and it only turns off for a few min. S after they attempt a fix with the wiring. The mileage then began about 80,007. About 1. 5 yr ago (may 2014) my ac /heater core fluid began leaking. It worsened when ac was turned high, took about 2 months before burning smell was continuously coming from engine after running ac and fluid was always dripping. 6 months (Jan 2016) ago my brake pedal began fluttering when depressed. I had the control arms, ball joints and brakes/rotors replaced. The brake pedal still flutters when slowing from 30 mph quickly. My Lincoln Ls mileage is 86,605.

7 Equipment problem of the 2005 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 11/16/2014

Had just come off freeway and parked. Noticed that climate control was blowing hot air (excessively). Turning the control to cooler settings just increased the blast of heat. The dual setting was not working either as most air was being forced to the driver side. The strange thing was that shortly after that, the parking brake service light came on! . After stopping and turning the ignition off and on a couple of times and engaging and disengaging the parking brake a couple of times also, the parking brake service light has turned off. It came back on once or twice, repeated the steps, and 'so far' has not come back on. But the heating/cooling, or lack of cooling is still a problem even through all controls seem to be operating properly, including the passenger side temp control is operational but does nothing as far as heating and cooling. At first it seemed coincidental for both the climate issues and the parking brake issues to occur at the same time. But after a search of the web turned up other people reporting similar 'coincidences' of the same combination of problems and then finding two complains on this site that also report the same basic information, I no longer believe that they are coincidental but may in fact related. In both complaints, 10305448 and 14499467, they talk of the braking brake service light and or issues with the brake actually engaging with one also mentioning the blasting of only heat out of the ducts. I find it very interesting and possibly worthy of notice as the dealers in both complaints relate the cause to interferences between the components, the parking brake electronics and the dual coolant control valve.

8 Equipment problem of the 2001 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 10/17/2014

I got this car in July & shortly thereafter I started hearing a pop here & there in the front end. And its gradually getting worse. I was told to check to see if there may be a recall for the ball or u joints. I need to know if this car is included in a recall or not. And if so how do I go about getting it fixed.

17 Equipment problem of the 2002 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 04/30/2005

My car has numerous parts that tear up repeatedly, within a 6 months time. Valve cover gasket had replaced twice within a 6 months time. The coil packs go up very often. I had panel buttons just tear up for no reason three times! wheel caps replaced numerous times. Overheating issues, door locking issues, battery replaced twice within 2 years time. Ac issues, (I never used my ac. . At all) . This car has a lot of problems on the t. S. Bulletin. I contacted Ford in reference to the multiple issues I was having with the car, the company representatives told me to take the complaint to the establishment of which I had been dealing with. Then they said Lincoln is an independent owned establishment so I am totally confused by this whole ordeal, they know that they have had a lot of multiple problems out of that car. And they refuse to recall some of those (as I would say) hazardous issues. I was at the dealer 2 weeks ago, I was conversing with a rep. At the dealership and he was telling me how the Lincoln Ls was their most problem vehicle, and cash maker for repairs. (OH by the way. . . . . . . I researched to find this site. To answer the question in the consumer section).

18 Equipment problem of the 2000 Lincoln LS

Smell of something burning - going to the dealership today. Headlight covers collect moisture. Airback light on - was quoted approximately $500 to fix. Driver side door does not open from inside - $85 to determine that the latch is worn off & again an estimate for $850 to fix the handle. Three out of the four power windows dropped down & had to be fixed in the last two years. Both the driver and the passenger seatbacks have fallen off. Driver seat makes noise when going/sliding back. On two seperate occasions I was unable to apply the brake when coming to a stop - car kept on rolling & I could not press the brake. Loud noise when accelerating between 45-55mph which I was told is "normal".
