Gasoline Fuel System Problems of Lincoln LS

Multiple problems-probably some how related : in speed up lane to interstate - at 55mph car bucks/hesitates while trying to gain speed onto the interstate at 45/55 mph constant speed car looses power and begins to buck/hesitate causing you to loose speed check engine light sometimes with above criteria - p0305, p0306, p0300.

Throttle body failure on 2004 Lincoln Ls (v8). Engine cuts out intermittently and goes to "etc engine failsafe mode", reducing maximum engine speeds to 10-15 miles per hour. Occasional stalls at full speed have also occurred, twice during turns at intersections. Replacement is necessary per Ford / Lincoln dealer.

Vehicle runs very rough. Will not accelerate over 2800 rpm and shakes badly. Check engine light is flashing. Checked codes p0304 and p0306. Chop states it is faulty ignition coils.

2004 Lincoln Ls v8 throttle body failures result in reduced rpm until the car is restarted. On occasion car will stall. Safety issue especially on the high way. Internet search shows known problem with 2003-2004 throttle position sensor. Search also results in vehicles 2003-2006 exhibit this failure. Dealer trying to procure new throttle body but on national backorder. . . Only one company in us fabricates. Approximately $900 part per dealer (contact info available upon request). This is a Ford design problem.

My 2004 Lincoln Ls after I put it in drive it accelerated at a very high speed. I hit a pole totled my car.

The engine failures began on July 28, 2005 and have continued through this date. This engine should have been recalled. The types of problems cause the engine to create erroneous mechanical readouts preventing the vehicle from passing state's emission inspections. The engine shuts down due to faulty plastic tensioners causing the timing chains to become loose, thus causing engine failures. I'm lucky I was not going any faster when my engine failed twice causing me to lose my steering capabilities, etc. Most mechanics are replacing ignition coils because they are getting misfire readings on specific cylinders, however the problem lies with the timing chains that go out eventually. Currently, I have four diagnostic readings on my engine stating that number 4 cylinder is misfiring, when indeed two mechanics are stating that the timing chain is the problem and another expert familiar with this problem sells the specific kits to try to correct this known problem of Ford's. . Spark knock under load (passing or from 0) occurs with low rpm and high rpm under loads currently told to wait until Lincoln finds a fix since they have never heard or dealt with this problem before. Transmission has had repairs done also. Shifting has gotten better since reprogramming of computor. Since this is a unique problem to this vehicle complaints are not taken too seriously by Lincoln of canada.
