Rolled down left passenger window and would not come up. Went to repair shop and was told they would have to take off whole door and then replace motor and another component that would range between 300-400. I cannot believe I bought an american car from a well known company and have been sold a horrible car that is falling apart. The car also pulls funny and runs funny when going up hills and sometimes almost feels like it is going to stop when I first start it in the morning.
Going from a stop or accelerating on the high way the car will throw a etc check engine light and wont move over 3-4 miles per hour. Then goes into a very rough idle, until one turns off the car and restarts then drives fine for a few mins the goes right back into the etc engine fail mode. . . . Very dangers if merging onto traffic. Almost been hit several times cause of the problem.
Terminal issues with the transmission in my 2000 Lincoln Ls ! I and everyone else are having issues with the transmissions in the Lincoln Ls models. Both the v-8 & v-6 models have constant issues with transmission failures & puts the owners at risk while driving these vehicles ! I was passing a semi when my failure happened and the car lost complete power and we almost got hit head on by an oncoming car (that was nowhere in sight when I started to pass this vehicle) ! it takes no effort to discover that this is a habitual issue with this vehicle. I was a Lincoln salesman for over 3 years and I know that Lincoln builds a great product, and reliability isn't an issue with any of their other models. Please dont allow Lincoln to address this issue by saying ,"well if your over 100k miles , we wont address it", becauseit will force us to go the route of spending $3500 to replace it with a genuine Lincoln tranny then they are happy . This is a safety issue , because this car will basically "shut itself down" when it encounters tranny issues , & Lincoln is going to say they don't know there is an issue . . . . . . . . . . . . C'mon !.
My 2003 Lincoln Ls start shifting while driving and the check transmission light came on then the e in the gear box came on.
I have a 2000 Lincoln Ls 3. 9l v8 with approximately 115,000 miles and I have been experiencing unintended acceleration in my vehicle. Although the experience is different than the toyotas that accelerated to 100+ mph it may be able to provide some insight upon what is going on with the current problem at hand. First I have to note that my vehicle does not have a check engine light on and seems to be in good working order being that I drive it every day to and from school. I am very attached to my car and service it regularly. When I start my car put it in gear and press on the gas the car will start to rev uncontrollably and accelerate, I have to jam on the breaks to stop the vehicle while this is happening. When I jam the transmission into park the car continues to rev without input from me but the acceleration stops. The car has been to the dealership for a fuel injection service because I thought it may be the throttle getting stuck. To no avail it didn’t solve my problem and I hope it can provide some insight to save lives.
I believe my 2000 Lincoln Ls is unsafe to drive do to the fact that the shifting is erratic. This car has actually cut out on me several times, on the highway all lights, power steering, brakes everything and gave me an error message. The message stated gear shifting error. My dealer doesn't know what to do. Why are they are registered as a Lincoln dealer if they can't fix Lincolns?.
My 2000 Lincoln Ls has had numerous mechanical problems resulting in thousands of dollars in repairs. The car is in the shop right now having the transmission replaced.
Air bag light on won't go off/front suspension making noise (ball joints) horn won't work and window motor broke in 2007 we replaced front driver now we have to replace front passenger.
The window safety lock does not operate, and I am unable to control the left rear window from the driver's control panel.
P0171-bank 1- system to lean p0174-bank 2-system to lean this is a design defect, rubber will rot under the extreme heat. The cost of hose $10 the repair at dealer $400 me and many other have complained please recall this.
My car has numerous parts that tear up repeatedly, within a 6 months time. Valve cover gasket had replaced twice within a 6 months time. The coil packs go up very often. I had panel buttons just tear up for no reason three times! wheel caps replaced numerous times. Overheating issues, door locking issues, battery replaced twice within 2 years time. Ac issues, (I never used my ac. . At all) . This car has a lot of problems on the t. S. Bulletin. I contacted Ford in reference to the multiple issues I was having with the car, the company representatives told me to take the complaint to the establishment of which I had been dealing with. Then they said Lincoln is an independent owned establishment so I am totally confused by this whole ordeal, they know that they have had a lot of multiple problems out of that car. And they refuse to recall some of those (as I would say) hazardous issues. I was at the dealer 2 weeks ago, I was conversing with a rep. At the dealership and he was telling me how the Lincoln Ls was their most problem vehicle, and cash maker for repairs. (OH by the way. . . . . . . I researched to find this site. To answer the question in the consumer section).

Purchased my 2000 Ls in October of that year. In 2001 had to have regulator on back passenger window replaced. Since then 2 more back window regulators have also been replaced at cost of approx. $700. Had to have coil replaced. Car has always hesitated shifting into reverse. At 40 mph car runs roughly, shakes. In June this year car would not start after shutting off. Some computer valve sticking; dealership told my husband to take a rock and hit it to free it up so car will start. Several times car would not start at all for no apparent reason. Called dealership about ball joint noise under front of car; they said nothing wrong. Front passenger door drains plugged --- door filled with water that sloshed when coming to a stop. Called dealership(s) --- no help. Called Lincoln hotline - no help. They said it was a 5 year old what do we expect!.
Consumer states he noticed that miles per gallon indicator was not working properly.
The decorative cap that covers the lug nuts swelled which made it difficult to change the tires. The wrench that came with the vehicle could not remove the decorative cap. Please provide further details.
The consumer believes the ashtray/light is too small which causes a safety hazard, to use the ashtray the driver has to take his/her eyes off the road to find it. Nlm.
