1 Power Window problem of the 2002 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 05/15/2009

My 2002 Lincoln Ls v8 has broken down in numerous ways. All ignition coils have had to be replaced, two window motors, airbag connector clip, my tie rod ends are bad, my car has actually shut off completely while driving up the 15 north three times while my son was in the car with me and now my transmission has completely stopped working. When it came to fixing the airbag connector problem Lincoln told me it was fixed and I went to pick up my car and it was still doing the same thing the three beeps so they fixed it for free and then told me my instrument panel on one side was burned out but the lights seems to work on it when I turn them on. They wanted to charge me 800 dollars for that but I refused. The ignition coil replacement was roughly 1000 dollars and I am waiting on my estimate for my transmission. Both window motors were 200 dollars a piece. I have had numerous taillights replaced and actually had a door lock jam closed on me. I truly feel that this car is a safety hazard for me and my son if it turns completely off at 65 miles an hour on a freeway with my son in the car.

3 Power Window problem of the 2002 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 07/11/2008

Faulty window regulators in a 2002 Lincoln Ls - while driving the drivers window and right rear window glass suddenly slammed down inside the doors with no warning within several days of each other. My car has 46,000 miles. This should not be happening and could be a serious safety issue. The problem is wide spread in the Lincoln - do a google search for faulty window regulators in a Lincoln Ls - you will not believe how common a problem this is. There is a technical service bulletin for this problem - Ford knows it. I had both windows repaired at a cost of 436. 36 - Ford agreed to pay 210. 00 of the bill . . . . . . . . This should be a recall - windows are not suddenly supposed to disappear.

Failure Date: 08/18/2007

Driving my 2005 Lincoln Ls down the street tonight all four windows were down. I pressed the button to let up the windows just before entering the freeway. Driver window came off of the track and back of the window continued to go up while the front of the window dropped down and looked as if it were going to fall out onto the freeway I got off at the next exit. Call the 1-800 number for Lincoln 24- roadside assistance. Phone rep put tony wang on the line this problem was above her expertise he said it was the weekend and he could not help me until Monday. Unless I just wanted the car towed to the nearest dealer to sit until Monday. No rental car assistance is available on the weekend. I asked for his supervisor, donald bryant was not working tonight I asked tony to have donald call me in the next ten minutes so I can figure out what to do next. That was 10pm 8/18 it is now 11:30 pm no call. The other complaint is I bought this car straight out of lease 40k miles now has 47k vibrations started at 70mph around 43k after Lincoln fixed a defective master cylinder. Lincoln has attempted to fix the vibrations 3 different times and kept the car approx 7days. Car was certified up to 75k. I am suprised parent company Ford runs their business this way. This is my first and will be my last Lincoln.

8 Power Window problem of the 2004 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 07/23/2007

First it started out in July 2007,ac wasn't blowing like it should be replaced control heads. Then my trac control light came on and park brake light was on checked and advised replaced speed sensor. Then check engine light came on found upstream bank 2 02 sensor reading out of spec. Replaced 02 sensor and clear codes. That cost me$1285. 51. Which I replaced sensor, spark plugs, coil then in Jan 2008 my transmission shift hard into reverse checked and advised found faults in solenoid, valve body, trans filter, repaired clear codes,ok. Replaced drive belt and pulley. That bill was 1318. 72. Well then in 08/2008 same thing transmission shifts rough concern cylinder misfire. Check engine light back on. Thank god had a recall from Ford on that. Found contamination in both sides replaced affected coils, plugs, and cover which they only replaced 4 of the 8 coils. That would have been 593. 18. Then on 08/2008 coolant leak just 3 days after getting it out of the shop had to replace leaking thermostat connector. Haven't had any problems running hot until they worked on it 08/11/2008. The power window was inoperative. The dealer replaced the regulator/motor. Updated 10/22/08.

9 Power Window problem of the 2000 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 11/04/2006

Power window system for 2000 Lincoln Ls is defective. On or about August 2006, the power window system of the right passenger side became inoperable. Shortly thereafter, in November of 2006, the power window system of the left passenger side also became inoperable. Subsequently, I've learned that there are numerous complaints for this very same issue.

10 Power Window problem of the 2001 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 09/18/2006

I replaced the right rear window regulator in September 2004. Today the left rear window regular went out. I transport my kids in this car and the window does not work. I just got the vehicle out of the shop two weeks ago. I can not afford to continue to repair this faulty vehicle. I finally made the decision to purchase an american made vehicle. Can you please issue a recall on the window regulators before my children or others get injured. I will be taking the vehicle to the dealer to pay approximately $400. 00. Thank you for your time in dealing with this matter.

11 Power Window problem of the 2001 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 05/24/2006

In August of 2005, the warranty on my car was going to expire. I took the Lincoln Ls to the dealership to have them check the car over. I told them that 2 of my windows were making strange noises. When I would lower or roll up the windows it made a clicking sound and the windows kind of slammed shut. The very next week, my drivers side window fell down into the door and it wouldn't work! it made this horrible grating sound like the window had broken inside the door. I took the car to the dealership, where is cost me almost 400 dollars to get the window repaired and the service manager told me there had been many problems with the windows on the Lincoln Ls's. I now have two more windows making that same clicking noise and slamming shut when I use the window, so basically, I am unable to use the windows in my car because I can't fork out 800 dollars to get the windows fixed. The front side passenger window has started falling down 1/2 to inch even when no one is using the window. This is a huge problem and a safety issue. If I were in a wreck, I have no assurance that the windows would work properly if I were trapped in my car. Its a safety issue in rainy weather, it is difficult to concentrate on driving when the window comes down and rain is pouring into the car. I have leather seats and rain would mess up my seats. It is also a safety issue during the summer and hot weather- suffocation could occur if I were trapped in the car! I have read literally 100's of complaints about this issue with the windows on the Lincoln Ls's. This is supposedly a luxury car- shouldn't Lincoln be required to fix this problem once and for all so people can feel safe and use their car for the purpose it was bought instead of having to keep in it the shop every 2 or 3 months?.

The dealership told the contact that this was what the air bag warning light did. The problem with the light first began about one month ago. 16 Power Window problem of the 2002 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 08/15/2005

I have had problems with the window mechanism in my Lincoln Ls. Several dealership service centers informed me that a lot of the Lincolns were having the same problem with a faulty window mechanism but they would not cover it because the car was out of warranty. I spoke to Ford and they agreed that because of the faulty mechanism they would fix the window for a discount. I paid 40 dollars for a 270 dollar repair. Recently the car has had the same problem with the faulty window mechanism. I brought it to the dealership expecting it to be covered the same as the last time. They told me they could not cover the cost of the window again. I contacted Ford who told me they don't know about the problems with the faulty window mechanisms. This problem caused damage to the inside of the car and makes the car vulnerable to break ins. I am unable to feel safe in the car now because the window will not roll all the way up. I would like an investigation into this issue for myself and all the other Lincoln owners having the same problem.

20 Power Window problem of the 2001 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 06/25/2004

I own a 2001 Lincoln Ls. In the three years I have owned the vehicle, the rear power window has burned out three times, most recently today. This is obviously a faulty part of the vehicle. Admittingly, the dealership stated that several vehicles had experienced the same, however no recall has been issued. The first incident during the first year of ownership was under waranty. The second occurence was split in cost this past August and now they are advising that they refuse to repar, despite the fact that it is the same equipment. They stated that I have exceeded the 12 months/12,00 miles. What can I do?.

21 Power Window problem of the 2001 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 05/12/2004

I got my car in Jan. Of 2004, since then the dealership has seen it more than I have. The airbag light keeps coming on, window regulators keep going out, windows keep geting off track and making awful noises, windows slam shut, and the brakes are squealing but the dealship can never find the problem and when they do 'fix' these problems, a few weeks later they are broke again. I cant keep taking off work for this and the dealer I bought it from wont help me, and because it is a used car, there are no lemon laws. What can I do? help!!!.

22 Power Window problem of the 2001 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 04/07/2004

Visibility:power window devices and controls I have had the rear passenger window regulator replaced twice and the front passenger window regulator once. 26 Power Window problem of the 2000 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 05/13/2003

Rear power window regulator, with failure history known to dealer, failed just outside warranty period. Despite their prior knowledge of recurring problem with this model, they did not advise or recommend upgraded equipment/repair until unit failed. Also refused to replace left rear unit despite anticipated failure. Refused to provide copy of technical service bulletin in their possession.

27 Power Window problem of the 2001 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 07/19/2002

Both rear window regulators failed. The replacement window regulator on the rear left failed and resulted in a shattered window which then damaged the door paint. Shoddy repair work then led to further problems with the paint and finish. The faulty window regulators appear to be a chronic problem, since I know of another Ls owner with the same chronic problem. This problem at the wrong time or place can result in serious safety and security issues. Does not give one a good feeling about when this could happen again. The fix applied does not appear to be any better thatn the original equipment that failed. Ford needs to develop a solid fix for this luxury vehicle with windows that do not operate properly.

28 Power Window problem of the 2000 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 07/10/2002

In a separate occasion, the front end of the vehicle vibrates when driving beteen 58-75 mph. Getting worst at higher speed. Tires were balanced, but vibration still exist.
