1 Seats problem of the 2004 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 12/09/2017

While driving in the evening, on a slightly winding, smooth, gravel road at about 30 to 35 mph, temperature about 34 degrees f, the airbag in the passenger seat deployed. There was not any form or type of collision. During the time I have had the car, about 2 years, there has not been any form of collision damage, as far as I know there was not any prior history of any type of collision damage. There was an occupant in the seat, his shoulder felt sore and his hearing was affected at the time.

2 Seats problem of the 2000 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 06/03/2015

While driving to work at 50mpg the airbag in the passenger seat deployed. I did not hit anything nor was I hit by anything. The airbag deployed for no reason. This is an issue as now I can not use the vehicle when traveling with my family as it is unsafe for anyone to sit in the passenger seat.

3 Seats problem of the 2004 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 04/28/2014

While traveling at 40 mph on flat, smooth two lane roadway the driver side curtain and side seat airbags deployed striking driver on left shoulder and facial area. There was no side impact or rough road prior to deployment. Driver was able to keep control of vehicle and move to berm. Driver suffered soft tissue trauma to left shoulder, upper arm and face. Side curtain airbag damaged interior roof header upon deployment. Driver seat side airbag appears to have not fully deployed and expanded inside the seat ripping out a 3 foot area of stitching and tearing the leather seating material in the immediate area. Contacted Ford motor company and they refused responsibility.

Seat belts made popping noise while driving and froze up. Not able to pull down. Air bag warning light stays on. Both happened within days of each other.

5 Seats problem of the 2004 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 08/21/2011

The contact owns a 2004 Lincoln Ls. The contact stated that the plastic panel on the rear of the front driver and passenger side seats detached three times. The failure would cause the seat to lean back and expose the electronic wiring in the seat. The manufacturer advised that the part was not covered. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 43,000.

Driver's side seat recline mechanism failed while driving on the interstate. Caused the right side of seatback to fully recline.

7 Seats problem of the 2001 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 08/16/2006

: the contact stated the vehicle's airbag light illuminated while driving 30 mph. Also, the seat memory lock that sets the preferred seating position of the front driver side failed. The memory lock was located on the front driver side door. On 08/22/06, the vehicle was taken to the dealer who determined that both problems were manufacturer defects. The manufacturer was contacted and expressed that a solution was not available.

Failure Date: 06/05/2004

While shifting gears the vehicle jerked and vibrated uncontrollably. The driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle and pulled over. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. However, mechanic could not duplicate the problem at this time. Blemish in rear leater seats. Engine stalls out and occasions surges/hesitates. Very hard 1-2 shift and transmission hunts 4-5 shift. No problem found. Transmission was upgraded for 2004 Ls to syncro type, which accounts for a crisp 1-2 shift. Under load going up hills vehicle will buck/loses power on acceleration. Powertrain control module (pcm) upgraded. Right side visor inoperative and replaced. Left front sill panel popped off. Sill panel reattached. Cigarette lighter inoperative and replaced. When steping on gas vehicle hesitates then takes off. No problem found. Traction control and abs lamps were on. Left front abs sensor replaced.

Power window inopertive rear passenger side broken plastic part cause. Heated drivers seat has never worked from day one.

Consumer complained that air bag light illuminated while driving. Vehicle was taken to dealer on several occasions, but the problem recurred. The vehicle was taken in for service on four occasions. The vehicle #1 seat won't return to the set position.

While driving the air bag warning light continuously illuminated on the dashboard. As a result, air bags were inoperative and wouldn't deploy when needed, per dealership. The dealership replaced every air bag component, but the problem still existed. The right front headlight held moisture and the fog light held water. The dealer replaced the headlights and fog lights. The bulb for the left side fog light burned out. The left seat was loose. The dealer replaced the clips on the back of the seat. The driver's side front door wouldn't open front he inside. The dealer replaced the handle. The check engine light illuminated and the engine stalled while the vehicle was stopped. The dealer replaced the intake hose. The engine made noise. The dealer replaced the mass air flow sensor. The passenger's side front power window was inoperative. The dealer replaced the window regulator. Wind noise could be heard around both doors. The dealer replaced both body seals.
