Three problems related to engine and engine cooling have been reported for the 2006 Lincoln Mark. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
During a 100k mile tune up, I attempted to change spark plugs. Out of 3 plugs, 2 broke off in engine block. The truck was then taken to a mechanic who broke off 3 more. They told me that Ford is very aware of the problem and would not do anything about it. It cost me $800 to have spark plugs removed. Now it appears that a part of the old plug broke off into the cylinder head, not removed by original shop, causing more damage that is currently being looked at by another shop.
The fail safe engine light comes on when driving at any speed or when the fuel gage gets low. I have to turn my truck off, wait a few minutes , then turn it back on for it to cooperate correctly. While the light is on it drives sluggishly.
I have a powertrain warranty for my truck an Ford says I have sludge in engine an I gave them all oil change receipts my warranty is up in oct 2011 an Ford is dying to fix it please help.
