1 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Lincoln Mark

Failure Date: 05/02/2016

In 2012, we bought a used Mark lt with 60k miles. The vehicle since stalled twice after reaching 100k+ miles and draining two battery, shutting down the engine without warning at a low speed and while trying to turn. This rendered the brakes and power steering useless - we just barely avoided frontal collision with street signs and a bridge as well as almost being rear-ended by driver behind us. Fortunately, both were at low speed and on local rural roads. Also, the vehicle has began hesitating when accelerating mostly @ 45-50 mph. The dealership could not re-create issues after first incident and the diagnostics did not show any error codes. Ford issued TSB's in 2008 describing " the engine problems are the result of defects in the following vehicle systems and components: . . . Powertrain control module (pcm), . . . Transmission control module (tcm, . . . Electronic throttle control (etc) and/or the throttle body assembly" which can lead to the following performance and safety issues " acceleration hesitation, loss of revolutions per minute, stalling, loss of power (incl. Loss of power at high rate of speed), sudden and intermittent deceleration and other similar and potentially life threatening malfunctions. " several complaints have been made directly to NHTSA. It is irresponsible that the oem is allowed to continue with this practice in the name of profit and is not required rectify the defects immediately and continues placing customers in danger. The recent gm case should have taught us all a lesson.

2 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Lincoln Mark

Failure Date: 12/10/2005

Lincoln Mark lt 2006. As my father proceeded down his drive-way stopping in front of his garage the truck suddenly accelerated in excess of 40 miles an hour. The truck went through the garage door hitting his Cadillac escalade, and pushing the escalade through the north wall of his garage. Estimated damage to garage, Lincoln, and escalade exceeds $30,000. 00. Neither airbag deployed, and the only thing that saved him from going all the way through the garage was that the escalade took the force of the collision. Previously, my father had owned a Ford f150, and he also had unexplained acceleration that caused damage. Previous to the date of this accident my sister had borrowed the truck and when she slipped it into reverse the truck started to burn rubber as she was just trying to back out of her driveway. My oldest brother drove it last week in lynnwood, washington at noon with my father to go to lunch, and was stopped at a light, the truck he told me just accelerated when he had his foot on the brake. Mt other brother had a similar experience when he and my father took a trip together. Ford/Lincoln has a serious problem, and you people seem to care less about addressing it. I have owned 1 Ford in my life, which I purchased at wilson Ford in 1987. The first year it was in the shop 21 times because of stalling at speeds over 30 miles an hour. My pregnant wife ended up crashing through a store front costing me and my insurance company 10,000's of dollars, not to mention almost my babies life. I was extremely interested in reading the other complaints about Ford 150's as it reminded me of what the service manager at wilson told me in all honestly. He said the manufacturer in 1987 had not even begun to correct the problems with the 1985 models. You have a problem that is getting worse.
