I’m unable to address recall NHTSA 25v572, Ford program 25s89, a rear camera issue affecting my 2015 Lincoln Mkc. The dealership made two attempts ordering parts on backorder to address the recall at my service appointment today. After receiving parts last week, Ford told dealers they do not recommend installing these parts to address the recall—the dealer also said they do not know the procedure or replacement parts Ford will recommend to address the rear view camera recall on a later date. They also believe Ford will now replace the entire camera vs replace components. I have no problem with the approach to replace the camera if that’s the case. And I also realize this is not the dealership’s fault; however, there is a huge disconnect and communication gap from Ford quality that must be addressed. It’s been challenging to order parts for this recall and wait months, only to discover Ford no longer knows how to address a fix my vehicle needs. I appreciate if NHTSA could investigate ongoing issues and delay for this recall. I’m happy to provide more details if necessary. Thank you!.

The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln Mkc. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20v331000 (latches/locks/linkages). The contact stated that the rear driver's side door failed to open as needed. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that she would need to pay for the diagnostic test and repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
Today (6/18/2021) was a totally dry day with no precipitation here in meade county, ky. Today at or about 7:00 pm, I went into the garage, got in the car, closed the driver's door, and put on my seat belt, started and put the car into drive, & moved the car out of the garage without incident. Once outdoors in the driveway, I immediately stopped the car, leaving the oem fob inside of the running car, I got out of my seatbelt, opened the car door and exited the car. Leaving the driver's door open, I went back into the garage to get something I had accidently left behind. I returned immediately to the car, got into the car, closed the door, and put on my seatbelt. When leaving the driveway, I noticed that the door ajar light came on. I immediately stopped the car, put it into park, and attempted to close and lock the door, but it would not close and lock. I attempted to close and lock the door several times using the oem fob, but it did not help. After a closer look at the driver's door lock on the outside of the car, it appears that the lock assembly is coming apart! this is the first time this has happened. As a result of this significant safety concern, I had to immediately park the car back into the garage and now it will remain parked until I can get it repaired. I noticed that other Ford products had similar lock failures, but thus far no recall has been issued for the 2016 Lincoln Mkc. I am shocked! this lock failure could have cost me my life and the life of my spouse who was with me in the car. I hope that NHTSA will investigate my claim and issue a prompt recall for the 2016 Lincoln Mkc. Again, my VIN number is 5lmcj2c90guj20053 and the car has 60,036 miles on the odometer. Thank you.
Car was in driveway. Auto stop feature was on. Foot was on brake, engine stopped idling. As I lifted my foot off the brake, the engine restarted and the a/c compressor engaged at the same time. The car lunged forward and hit a brick column causing over $2000 in damage. Car was serviced at dealer for this problem. I was told there is no recall for this problem and the car did not "throw any codes". Problem could not be replicated. Nothing was done to the car by the dealer for this problem.

On several occasions I have come very close to getting into serious accidents with my 2015 Lincoln Mkc. The vehicle has a major blind spot from from the frame cowel that leads down from the roof covering the outer edge of the windshield. Inside the vehicle it is extremely difficult to see oncoming traffic if you're looking left. If a motor cycle, motor scooter or bicyclist is approaching from your right side, you may not see him or her. I was stopped at a stop sign, intending to make a left hand turn. For some reason I took an extra second to stop. I did not see the motor scooter and he would have t-boned my car if I had just pulled out assuming there was no traffic coming.
The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln Mkc. While driving approximately 60 mph, the door chime sounded and the front passenger door opened. The contact pulled the vehicle onto the road shoulder and, after repeated attempts to close the door, the contact had to use a bungee cord to secure the door. The vehicle was driven home. The contact called the dealer and was advised that only the rear doors were included in a recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
