I’m unable to address recall NHTSA 25v572, Ford program 25s89, a rear camera issue affecting my 2015 Lincoln Mkc. The dealership made two attempts ordering parts on backorder to address the recall at my service appointment today. After receiving parts last week, Ford told dealers they do not recommend installing these parts to address the recall—the dealer also said they do not know the procedure or replacement parts Ford will recommend to address the rear view camera recall on a later date. They also believe Ford will now replace the entire camera vs replace components. I have no problem with the approach to replace the camera if that’s the case. And I also realize this is not the dealership’s fault; however, there is a huge disconnect and communication gap from Ford quality that must be addressed. It’s been challenging to order parts for this recall and wait months, only to discover Ford no longer knows how to address a fix my vehicle needs. I appreciate if NHTSA could investigate ongoing issues and delay for this recall. I’m happy to provide more details if necessary. Thank you!.

The rearview camera on my 2015 Lincoln Mkc stopped working. The screen is either blank or distorted, which makes it unsafe to back up since I cannot see behind the vehicle. I have not yet gone to the dealer about this issue. I see there is an active recall (25v270000) for this problem, but my VIN shows no coverage.
Not always, but when it is wet raining weather the wipers will not work properly. They slow step across the windshield and/or stop working all together. This was repaired a few months after we purchased the vehicle in September 2019. It happen again in March 2021 and now in may 2021. The dealer kept the vehicle for two weeks in March and said it was a ground wire issue. I took the vehicle back may 2021after running into rain and they wouldn't work, but started working by the time I got it back to the dealer and the rain had stopped. We are worried that at anytime we could run into rain and they could stop working, we have been lucky that the times it stopped working it was daylight and not at night.

I recently leased a Ford Mkc. It came equipped with side view mirrors that would automatically fold in when the vehicle was close enough to an object where you could get closer for convienence. A good example is when you go through a car wash and the side mirrors Ford in so they do ot get damaged during the car wash. If a person forgets to press the botton to have the mirrors swing back out so a person can drive safely that does not occur automatically. In essense those mirrors are closed and I could be doing 55 and not have access to the side mirrors if I forgot. I believe they should automatically open back up when the vehicle gets to a specific speed like 20-25 miles an hour. I had a BMW that had the same o[ptioon only when it got to 20 miles an hour it automatically put the sideview mirrors where they needed to go. Big safety issue.

The windshield wipers on the Lincoln Mkc malfunction in the rain. I experienced several instances where, under flood advisory conditions, the windshield wipers did not work. I turned the car on and off several times. I change the wiper automation settings several times and still the wipers would not work. I believe this is a very hazardous issue for anyone driving a 2017 Lincoln Mkc and do not believe it should be taken lightly under any circumstances when lives are at hand. In the above set instance I was driving during the day with rain sleet and snow under flood advisory conditions.
On several occasions I have come very close to getting into serious accidents with my 2015 Lincoln Mkc. The vehicle has a major blind spot from from the frame cowel that leads down from the roof covering the outer edge of the windshield. Inside the vehicle it is extremely difficult to see oncoming traffic if you're looking left. If a motor cycle, motor scooter or bicyclist is approaching from your right side, you may not see him or her. I was stopped at a stop sign, intending to make a left hand turn. For some reason I took an extra second to stop. I did not see the motor scooter and he would have t-boned my car if I had just pulled out assuming there was no traffic coming.
The decorative silver strips on the dashboard underneath both of the dash air vents causes a major reflection in both the driver's and passenger side view mirrors when driving in bright sunlight. This is a major distraction and in traffic could cause you to miss seeing a vehicle beside you. These strips need to be replaced with the faux wood look on some of the Mkc models. Can't believe they never noticed this in the design process. Is noticable when parked or in motion. Happens everyday if the sun is shining.
