Air Bag Problems of Lincoln MKS

Electrical problem continues to happen. I was trying to unlock the car. It would unlock and lock , windows roll down, sunroof open and all windows roll down without my help. Radio will turn all the way up. I placed a fixd in the car. Repairs started flashing low battery, sensor with steering, seat belts, and airbags. This has happen several times. I went to a shop. They told me I had a recall. I went to a dealer, they said I did not. I am confused and afraid to drive my car at times. Because this has happened when I am driving to.

There have been 2 separate incidents involving a front collision at high speeds. Both times, the air bags did not deploy as they should have. The 2nd incident was today. The car is now totaled. The impact both times should have deployed the air bags. My son was injured today due to this. A truck ran a stop sign and we hit him. None of the bags deployed. Speed was 45 mph. The whole front of the car and hood are completely crushed. There were no alarms during or before impact. This is the 2nd wreck.

The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mks. The contact stated that upon start of vehicle, the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact had initially called the dealer and was informed that his vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v247000 (air bags). The contact then called the manufacturer and was provided the same information as the dealer. The manufacturer referred him to NHTSA for further assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2009 Lincoln Mks. The contact stated his wife the driver was at a stopped sign and while preceding into the intersection the vehicle front passenger side collided with another vehicle. The air bags deployed and within a few seconds a fire was started. However, the flames extinguished themselves and the vehicle cabin was filled with smoke. The contact stated that his wife's right side coat sleeve was on fire and she was able to exit the vehicle. The contact mentioned that his wife patted the coat sleeve to extinguish the coat flames. The contact mentioned that he was concerned that the fire was started due to the air bags gases as the air bags exploded. The fire department or police was not notified. The contact's wife went to urgent care for medical treatment due to shoulder pain and the injuries to her wrist from the fire. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the failure was not diagnosed but the contact stated that the mechanic stated that the was surprised that the air bags had deployed. The contact also stated that the airbags were cut out of the vehicle as he had the air bags. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 124,000.

Steering wheel wont adjust and will not move and there is a loud clicking noise when you start vehicle.

I see Lincoln mkz have recalls on seat belt tensioner. Well my Lincoln Mks has a seat belt tensioner that needs replacement. Have you had anyone complain about Lincoln Mks for that problem.

Takata recall. Parts are not available for replacement since may of 2018. Nothing has happened.

Takata recall - several months ago, took car to dealership (sabine river Ford) in orange TX and they didn't perform work, saying they didn't have the parts. Called them again today (10/23/17) after receiving notice from tk holdings inc. . Notice said to take car to dealership to have work done free of charge. Dealership said they need to check on status of takata bankruptcy to see if recall can be done. Said they would call back.

The contact owned a 2009 Lincoln Mks. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, another vehicle crashed into the passenger side door of the vehicle. No air bags in the vehicle deployed. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was filed. The driver sustained head and neck injuries and the front seat passenger sustained head trauma, an injured left hip and leg and a lower back injury that both required medical attention. The vehicle was towed but not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 139,000.

Takata recall: I received a notice that my car is involved in the massive takata recall a couple of months ago, and here it is September, and I haven't been contacted to get this corrected. The risk of metal fragments hitting a passenger is unsettling to say the least. Why is this taking so long to get rectified? god forbid I am involved in a front end collision with a passenger. Please advise as to when I can expect this to be resolved. Thanks.

Takata recal. L I received a safety recall to replace the passenger airbag in my 2009 Lincoln Mks in July of 2016. I have not received any more info. From Ford. I check with the local dealer and they do not have a fix. Recall notice is 16s26/NHTSA. Recall 16v-384. When will it be fixed?.

In 2016 we were notified of the takata airbag recall. Lincoln cannot supply me a fix by date. I received another notice saying it is not safe for anyone cannot sit in the front passenger side of the car. Since my wife suffers from vertigo we cannot make any long trips. As a side note I own a 2005 datkota pickup and both takata air bags have been replaced.
