I’ve owned my 2012 Lincoln Mks for 3 years. A warning recently appeared saying “power steering assist fault,” and now the steering is very hard to turn, especially at low speeds. I’ve already paid around $1,800 in the past to fix this issue once, but now I’m experiencing the same or similar problems again. I haven’t had it officially diagnosed this time because both Ford and the dealer told me it wouldn’t be covered, since the recall (15s18) is now expired. This is a serious safety issue. The car is difficult to control and unsafe to drive. I’m a full-time worker and a father of two toddlers, and I’m still making payments on this car that I now can’t safely use — or only for short trips while constantly worrying about steering failure. I just found out about this old recall, and the dealership never told me anything about it when I bought the car used. I strongly believe I’m experiencing the same issue Ford previously recalled these vehicles for, and I’m asking NHTSA to investigate or reopen the recall so it can be repaired before me or my family is seriously injured.

This is additional information related to my prior complaint 1167880 regarding the 2012 Lincoln Mks steering issue.
Rear camera on 2013my Lincoln Mks has been replaced and the replacment continues to fail. The camera either does not work producing no image, the image is upside down, or the image is grainy. The original camera failed and I replaced it and the replacement is failing the same way. I have spent over $1000 replacing this rear camera. It seems the new camera installed is the same one getting recalled on new vehicles and I believe my rear camera should be part of this recall since it was a replacment part.

I currently own and am driving a 2014 Lincoln Mks, my fourth such vehicle over the past several years. Lincolns have been one of my favorite vehicles however, I am writing to bring to your attention a recurring issue with the climate control system that may warrant further review as a potential safety-related defect. Many owners, including myself, have experienced a situation where the vehicle's heating system automatically increases to full heat without any driver input. In my case, both sides of the dual-zone system simultaneously rise to maximum temperature, regardless of the settings selected. This behavior appears to be linked to a failure of the main blend door actuator. While this may seem like a comfort issue at first glance, it can quickly become a safety concern. Sudden, uncontrolled heat output can fog windows, distract the driver, and create uncomfortable cabin conditions that may impair focus. Given the number of similar reports from other owners, I believe this issue may merit further investigation. I respectfully request that the national highway traffic safety administration (and Ford) review this matter to determine whether a recall or service campaign may be appropriate. Thank you for your time and attention. I appreciate your commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Vehicle's ac continuously goes from coldest temperature to high heat on its own and cannot be turned off. You can hit the max ac button and numbers will read 60 and work it's way up to "high" heat within just a few seconds. This happens at any given moment and will not stop until it wants to. Cruise control turns off while driving and collision warning sensor comes on. Once this happens, you cannot set cruise control anymore. This too is something that works and malfunctions on its own. When driving, I have experienced the loud collision warning sound and flashing red light on dash, causing me to panic while driving. Problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center, nor has it been inspected by manufacturer. Warning lamps and flashing red dash lights and alarms sound. This issue has been ongoing since may 2023. All issues described take place every single day that I drive my car.
Lincoln is currently recalling 2015 cars for rear camera failures. Mine failed on [xxx]. I am [xxx] and use the camera for backing up and parking. My model is not in the recall. I had the repairs done at the dealership for $857. 00! on the repair order it states; "customer states that rear camera is upside down and has no color and screen will go black. " this is exactly the reason for the recall #25v695. I would like to have my 2015 Mks included in the recall , and would like reimbursement for the repairs. Thank you, [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The steering system locks up and loses power assist, and the brakes and traction control sys also malfunction, and several failure lights all come on ,as I was making a left turn in front of a police car the steering locked up and I almost hit the police car,the vehicle isn't driveable, the policeman advised me not to drive the car,he verified the steering didn't work, when the problem occurs the steering gets extremely hard and at the same time lights and bells start ringing in the car and it's very scary because between the steering and brakes not working the bells and lights are very distracting.

Rear-view camera issue causing inverted, distorted, or blank image. I paid to replace the camera when I purchased the used vehicle. The replacement rear view camera installed at the dealership has the same issue. I would like this rear view camera to be part of the recall ongoing for rear cameras as apparently the replacement parts have the same issue. This rear view camera was replaced and continues to fail on my 2013 Lincoln Mks.
Lincoln customer service has been an ultimate nightmare. Previously spent $2,000 just so the car would stop blasting the heat, blasting the radio, locking and unlocking vehicle. In order to get the car stereo working it’s an additional $4,000. From all my research I’m relieved I’m one of many dealing with this recall Lincoln refuses to take responsibility on screwing loyal customers like me. The car retains water in the bottom of door frames. Front collision doesn’t work and it will sometimes go crazy when I’m near car like locking and unlocking car sporadically. I refuse to allow any children to ride in this car due to its unpredictable behavior like it has a mind of its own. Please help me I have Lincoln take full responsibility for their wrongs to help out customers safety like me and many others. 772-370-1849 james colton skinner 1030 sw 31st street palm city FL 34990.
Driving and stopped for a red light. The engine stalled and would not restart. I was driving and slowed down for a red light. The engine chugged and stalled. It would not restart. There was a recall on the 2013 model with the exact problem but not for the 2014. This could have ended terribly had I not been slowing down for the light. I was able to swerve into a large mall parking lot and came to a stop.
Recall notice: NHTSA 25v270 my Lincoln mkc VIN# [xxx] has a recall 25v270. I also have a 2013 Lincoln Mks VIN # [xxx] with no recall but which has the issues with the rear view camera it intermittently displays a blank and image is upside down and some times it will be normal. Should it be considered a recall due to the image may reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Which is stated on the **** important safety recall**** thank you [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
All four doors started retaining water and I have to pull the rubber back and let it drain but when there was a hard rain I would get leaks from the moon roof area that leaked on to the console/gearshift area I took it to a shop but they couldn't find any thing wrong then after a hard rain I sucked 12 gallon of water out of the drivers side floorboard it seemed that it was seeping in from under the dash or somewhere under the floorboard because as soon as I vacuumed some more would appear also before I vac I could hear water sloshing and it wasn't in the doors if that wasn't enough my wife was driving and the moon roof opened by it self and would not close so I took it to a dealer and they charged me 150. 00 to close it and told me I needed two motors and a new switch and other parts totaling around 700. 00 and but I felt that all that wasn't needed since I had never open the roof before in 4 years which meant to me the motors should be ok since I had never used it so I declined the two motors and asked them to put everything else in and leave it closed and I would be satisfied so they closed the moon roof but not the sun screen and told me that they could not close the screen because the roof might open back up and they may not be able to get it closed I paid out 400. 00 and I'm driving around in a beautiful 2014 Mks I bought in 2015 new and only has 58000 miles and in mint condition love my Lincoln but scared when it rain this is a nightmare can you help or tell them how to correct the problem.
Outside temp 27 f. Opened front passenger door and it would not stay shut. Had to use rope to tie passenger door to rear door behind driver to keep it shut so I could go to eye doctor, a three hour drive away. As temperature has risen, it seems to be latching to stay shut now, but I do not trust it.
8/3/2018 @ 31000 miles a/c stopped blowing. Just before this, noticed temp rose from to and hi. Immediately drove to my local Ford dealer. Replaced blower($400). 3miles from repair, the beeping of rising temp of system began, not repaired. I called my service rep, told to return. It was Friday. @4:20 pm. I chose to return after the following Wednesday. I expected to have toleave the car, over the weekend, and needed it on Tuesday/Wednesday. Made appointment for thursdaty @8am. Diagnosed on Friday, 8/11/2018 as faulty fcim module, an item on backorder, unavailable, and discontinued! ouch 8 months off of factory warranty and my sweet ride is unrepairable due to a discontinued module.
A/c randomly goes to highest setting and you can't adjust it or turn it off. Typically happens in extreme termperatures (hot and cold). Beeping noise as if you are pressing the buttons is continuous. Was advised it was a faulty fcim but the part "is on back order" and no one can advise when this part will become available. In doing research, the fcim part seems to be failing in many vehicles and everyone has the same complaint - they can't get one.
The telescoping feature of the steering wheel has a gear inside of the steering column that is known to fail in this particular vehicle, which could cause safety concerns if the steering wheels needs to be raised in the event of a collision. The failure of the telescoping gear prevents the steering wheel to be moved up or down.

I have a problem with my 2011 Lincoln Mks. I smell exhaust or gas fumes in the cabin when driving. The smell is giving me headaches. When I check under the hood I don't get the smell. Plus the smell is stronger when I put the air flow on recirculation. I'm now afraid to drive my car. Have you received any other complains about fumes in this vehicles? thanks for your help with this issue.
I have a 2015 Lincoln Mks purchased in may 2016. It has a malfunctioning fcim panel . Whereby the heater will turn on all by itself and goes up to its highest temps tire and then stop. It has a touch screen to turn down or off to allow you to reset the temps. But is now not working and temp stuck on heat and vehicle is now undrivable. And Ford/Lincoln refuses to acknowledge problem, let alone fix it despite numerous complaints. This problem has been ongoing for 1 1/2 years.
While driving the moon-roof of the 2010 exploded from the inside of vehicle out. The noise was very loud, shot gun type noise, tire blowout etc.

Rina & pasquale fontanini died as well as 30 others like guinee pigs for big auto profit over safety. They had the chance to regulate in 2011 and failed thanks cesrae fontanini cell 847-894-5862.
S10-direct reply- letter to the secretary from constituent re requesting assistance in facilitating a change to keyless ignition safety. The consumer stated her brother walked into horrible scene and found both of their parents dead. The cause was carbon monoxide poisoning from a 2013 Lincoln Mks vehicle that was inadvertently left running in their garage. The vehicle had a keyless ignition system that failed to have an automatic shutoff or an adequate audible alarm.
Safety features for keyless ignition exit from car failure. No audible & no engine shut off 2 deaths.
Taking off from a signal and the transmission made a clunking sound and feel. The car rev'd up and would not shift out of 1st or 2nd gear. This has now happened twice. On more than 5 occasions, when accelerating from a stopped position, the tires hit a small patch of sand and the car will jerk and stop immediately with the over drive light flashing. The car will take up to 30 seconds to recover before it will let you move forward once again.
From day one my sunroof has leaked on passenger side after raining, I have unclogged the (2) drains at the sunroof. . . . . . . . Doors hold water from day one. . . . . . What is going on here???.
I used the automatic parking feature. Instead of parking it hit the side of the vehicle that I was parking behind, the vehicle that I hit was a truck with a metal frame over the bed, that is what the vehicle hit. Damage is approximately $1700. Ford denied the claim. They never even contacted me about the incident.
While driving said vehicle into the sun, the installed factory chrome decretive trim shines back into the drivers eyes making it very hard to read the car instruments, the trim area shines like diamonds into the drivers eyes even with sunglasses on in the arizona sun, this also very distracting. European cars are not built with this distraction. The drivers seat ( center ) does not align with the steering wheel, it is offset to the right of center of the wheel by 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, the seat also rubs very hard against the center counsel, so hard that the seat squeaks as it rubs onto the counsel. The manufacture has failed to address this problem. Seat may also jamb at some point with this problem.
We have been having ongoing issues over the past 6 months, at least. The car has been in to the dealer 3 times for same thing. Some of the issues I have read regarding the f150 are the issues I am having with my 2010 Lincoln Mks. Driving highway, cruise will fall off, you feel it somewhat jerk off. Cruising later and it falls off again, then you cannot determine if it will continue running or die. It shutters, jerks, it seems to lose power. It seems to happen after about 20 minutes of highway driving. It is very intermittent, but has been more frequent lately. It does seem to stumble/misfire. Jerking around, not sure if it will die. The tack jumps considerable during these incidents. Concerns to take on longer journeys. There are times it is jerky and not certain if it will go or kill when I have also left a stop light. The last 2 incidents June 18th and the one on June 15th were very concerning, seems to be getting worse. We were unsure if we should continue on our way to appleton from fond du lac, about 40 minutes of highway driving as it was kind of twitching and dropping off the cruise, then the jerking as to if it could kill with the tachometer going to 5 and jumping back and forth. Something is just not right. I drive 25 minutes to work each day and it does happen on and off, hit and miss, nothing regular to it for how often. Thank you dawn potratz.
The contact owns a 2009 Lincoln Mks. The contact discovered that all of the windows were down when the vehicle was not in operation. The dealer suggested that the key fob must have been touched and caused the windows to go down. She was unable to roll the windows back up until the vehicle warmed up. The dealer stated that the global opening system needed to be disarmed in order to remedy the failure. They further stated that in order to pinpoint the failure exactly, the keyless entry global system needed to be re-armed. Her concern was the sensitivity of the vehicle fob opening. No repairs have been made to date. The failure and current mileages were less than 150.
