The engine light continues to come on and the only reading it gives off is that the engine is running lean. Nothing seems to be smoking or wrong with the vehicle. It continues to drive well. Then the backup cameras started to go on a blink. It comes off and on intermittently sometimes on while driving forward and less frequently on when in reverse.

I applied my hazards when pulling over and once it was safe to resume, I went to turn off my hazards and they would not turn off. I tried shutting off the vehicle and restarting but nothing was clearing it. The button was not stuck either. After about 20 mins of driving with the hazards, I tried the button again and the hazards shut off. I believe there is an issue with the front control panel.

Just like all the other cars made by Ford on their platform the power steering locked up while driving. Cause a near fatal accident.

The backup camera frequently stops working, which greatly reduces rearward visibility and compromises safety. Recalls have been issued for other Lincoln models for this same issue but not the 2014 Mkt.

Cover securing engine start/stop button popped off and start/stop button was pulled into the dash. . Can reach button only by fishing around in dash through access opening. Secured button somewhat with bungee cord but button still inch or more in dash. Obviously installed under excessive tension. Notified Lincoln but advised it was not an assembly issue. Dealer estimate to repair - $645. Vehicle has not not been in an accident and start/stop button has had only normal wear. Vehicle mileage 68,000. Believe this is major safety issue which Lincoln should repair.

~ the contact owns a 2014 Lincoln Mkt. While operating the vehicle, the radio climate temperature control panel randomly activated and erroneously change modes. The failure prevented the front windshield from being defrosted. The vehicle was taken to biener Ford in great neck the service representative said nothing can be done because their is no part replacement, for this issue. This issue happens everyday weather its in motion or in idle once is starts act out it happens multiple time's in a day this is has been happening ever since I purchased the vehicle. This not only happens on the defroster but the climate control as well.
Door is ajar light fails intermittently. This causes the interior lights to come on which is very dangerous and blinding driver. When driving the interior lights come on blinding me temporarily.
All ability to control the hvac is lost while in motion. The vehicle allows me to select any function I ask of it on the center stack like ac, heat, feet vents, defrost with a confirming light and "boop" sound, however only hot air blows out the defroster vent and it cannot be turned off without turning the whole vehicle off. In cooler weather, especially when raining, the windows fog up and visibility is lost. Other systems affected are the lock/unlock buttons inside the car. When the vehicle is put into park and the unlock button is pressed, a soft click can be heard, however the car stays locked. The only way to unlock the doors is to use the keyfob. In an emergency situation, it would be difficult to exit the vehicle. Also, once the doors are unlocked and the vehicle is driven to a certain speed, the locks do not auto-lock again. When the vehicle is turned off, it does not recognize the key and the vehicle won't start, but the key-fob still works for unlocking and locking the vehicle. The tailgate button on the outside of the vehicle and on the key-fob will not work, however, the tailgate button inside of the vehicle does work. The vehicle will not go into an auxillary mode. If the vehicle is not turned off and continues to be driven, the car will "come to" after 30 plus minutes and work normally again. If the vehicle is turned off, it won't restart from anywhere of 1-30 minutes. When it restarts, everything is normal again. Dealer shows no error codes and doesn't yet know how to fix it. My best guess is that there is a computer issue, as some parts of the vehicle are fine, but others stop working. Issue started in June 2018, has yet to be fixed by Lincoln. Usually happens 2-4 times a month. Latest it happened was 10-15-2019. Many videos of issue.
Although the warning was displayed, I was not aware that my car only had an electronic power steering. This type of issue is one that can truly cause a serious accident should one is driving when their power steering go out. The power steering on this car stops more than just your steering wheel and I for one think that there needs to be a recall. It's a good thing that I was parked and glad because my daughter was with me.

~tl the contact owns a 2013 Lincoln Mkt. While driving in a funeral procession, smoke and flames appeared from the engine compartment under the hood. The contact stopped the vehicle, opened the hood, and extinguished the flames with a fire extinguisher. The fire department arrived to assist with extinguishing the flames and filed a fire report. There were no injuries. A police report was not filed. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v172000 (electrical system), but the contact did not receive a recall letter. The vehicle was towed to reineke Ford Lincoln of lima a(1360 greely chapel rd, lima, OH 45804, (419) 223-3673) to diagnose the cause of the fire damage. The contact stated that the computer system for all operating components of the limo was previously serviced at american limousine service cleveland (11723 detroit Ave, lakewood, OH 44107, (216) 221-9330). The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 35,000.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Lincoln Mkt. While operating the vehicle, the radio climate temperature control panel randomly activated and erroneously change modes. Electronic steering failed immediately while turning corner for unknown reason almost crashed into oncoming vehicles.

I drove in my driveway. Shifted to park and turned off the ignition, popped the trunk release. Exited the car and saw the trunk lid was down. Got the remote out of my pocket and pressed it to open trunk . Trunk still didn't open. Went back to driver's door, opened it and the alarm system and lights went off, and my car started rolling backwards and knocked me down and ran over me!.
Loss of power on the highway causing the car to stall then it kicked back in. Then it did not start after we parked it and tried to start it back up. We had it towed to a auto repair place that said it was the fuel pump electric module pem may have overheated causing a loss of electric power to the fuel pump.
Lincoln Mkt 2014 has stalled three times. I have always taken it to a dealer for regular maintenance and repair. It has not even been two weeks since the car came back after a 1 month of repair from the dealer that my car does not start. I called roadside assistance, they gave a boost which made the car start but after leaving the engine running for 1 hour and turning it off, this car does not start! Lincolns Mkt has serious car defects that even their trained mechanics don't seem to resolve the problems this car has given me. I bought this car brand new and since 2014 car is under 100000miles and has stalled three times! fyi the dealer changed my car battery and it has not even been a year with a new battery!!!.
Head light one of them always off.
Power liftgate opened without command while being driven on highway without command and would not respond to interior control or keyfob to close and had to close manually. Liftgate opened on three additional occasions within 45 mins of the first occurrence. The third occurrence resulted in the liftgate being damaged, (repair est at $2,500), while entering an underground parking garage. In all occurrences, the liftgate had to be closed manually as it would not respond to the interior control or keyfob. Vehicle was taken to a local Lincoln dealership where it remained for 42 days without being repaired. Dealership could not duplicate condition and repairs were not made. Ford ogc denied claim to repair resulting damage to due to malfunction. Owners opinion is that the vehicle has a serious safety defect which could result in cargo falling from the vehicle while being driven on the highway and cause an accident or multi vehicle pile-up due to drivers attempting to avoid or colliding with objects falling from the vehicle if the liftgate opens again without command. Ford/Lincoln customer complaint case [xxx] filed 16 oct 12. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Initial incident and failure mileage probably earlier. The 15-20 stalls experienced have occurred intermittently when starting from a stop or accelerating from a stop slowly. I have taken the car to the dealer at least four times, but the problem never manifested itself during those visits. I finally called Ford customer service when I had three stalls in one day in mid April. Ford customer service case#cas-2461287 has complete details. Ford customer service had the dealer install a unit which had a button to be pressed during each incident. I pressed the button three timed (max allowed). One incident was a definite stall, the other two, were weak. The dealer results indicated that the car was operating normally and that one press was done while the car was in park (not true) which I told the dealer and Ford customer service. I received no satisfaction other that an x-plan deal on a new car, when I told them I wanted to sell the car and would not buy another Ford product. Today, I became aware that the problem is more widespread so I will not use the x-plan. While my stalling problem with eco-boost is not as serious as some, I have read about. It remains a serious safety issue. The ar is under warranty with 31,000 and seven months of 48 remaining. I am not certain what component is failing. . . Updated 07-05-13.
