I am submitting this complaint regarding a recurring safety issue with the rear-view camera system in my 2014 Lincoln Mkt. The camera intermittently fails to display a proper image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. Specifically, the screen either remains blank, displays a distorted image, or inverts the image entirely. These malfunctions significantly impair rear visibility and pose a safety hazard, particularly in environments with limited space or pedestrian traffic. I have narrowly avoided several incidents with other vehicles or pedestrians, due to this camera malfunction. I am aware that Ford motor company has issued a recall for similar rear-view camera defects affecting various models from the 2015 to 2019 production years. However, my vehicle—despite exhibiting identical symptoms—is not currently included in that recall. Given the nature of the defect and its potential to compromise driver and pedestrian safety, I respectfully request that the national highway traffic safety administration investigate this issue and consider expanding the scope of the existing recall to include the 2014 Lincoln Mkt. I had an independent service center check the camera. The ase-certified technician explained the issue appears to be a software problem that can only be handled by a Lincoln dealer. When I contacted a dealership, they said they were not aware of any fixes for the problem. When the camera malfunctions, a message pops up on my information screen in the vehicle that tells me "camera is unavailable" and to "contact the dealer. " there were no other warning messages or lamps of any kind. I am prepared to provide photographic or video evidence of the malfunction upon request and am willing to cooperate with any further inquiries or inspections deemed necessary. Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

Front sunroof exploded while driving. No one was around me nor was it bad weather. I had glass flying everywhere off the car and down the side which could have caused the paint to be scratched and or if someone would have been around me, they would have been hit with flying glass. My entire drive home the glass was falling into the liner and down the side of the car. The car has been sitting at the dealership undriveable. You could hear it crackling even after sitting in the garage for a period of time. The glass was dropping down on the liner and could have shattered all over the interior and the passengers had the liner not been closed. It could have also caused you to crash as it sounds like someone shot out a window when it happens. I was able to pull over alongside the road and asses the damages after calming down a bit. The same day I took my car down there someone else in a Ford edge had a cracked sunroof there were no prior warnings on the car to let me know of a problem and there was nothing around me at the time it exploded. The car is in perfect condition and taken care of very well. It only has 33,000 miles on it and is always garaged. I have read many articles with those experiencing the same thing with the same car and same window. I also found several posts of suits filed against Ford / Lincoln for this very same issue. The dealership did research it and agreed it is a known problem, but a recall never issued. They did contact Lincoln on my behalf, and they have denied the claim. I have seen many articles where this has happened within the first couple months to a couple years out, but it is always the front sunroof. There is clearly a design problem with the car, and it needs to be addressed. This is a situation where a crash could have been caused, or someone seriously injured inside the car because of a defective design in the sunroof of Lincoln's Mkt.

Rearview camera image malfunctioning when the car is in reverse. Multiple issues with the rearview camera are: frozen display, fuzzy display, reverse imaging, or no image displayed at all. This is creating a false representation of where my vehicle is relative to it's surroundings, thus highly increasing the risk of a crash and/or bodily injury and/or death. There currently are new recall number(s) associated with this malfunctioning safety hazard, one with the NHTSA recall number 25v-315 & fords recall number 25s49 for these faulty rearview cameras. These are for select models & years only, and does not include my year nor model. [2015, Lincoln Mkt livery] please, please, please expand the recall to include my year, make, and model. As lives depend on your oversite. Please add other years, makes & models to the recall list before an accident and/or injury occurs.
I purchased a used vehicle and had an open safety recall for the rear tow link replacement do to the fact that it could lose steering control and crash if not replaced so I scheduled an appointment with my local dealership to have them replaced I took it in on a Friday they called me to come pick it up asked me to return the following Friday for an alignment so I did after the following Friday's alignment my steering wheel was sideways when it was going forward it was a bad alignment so I call them back up and explain the situation and that they needed to fix it to which they called back and left a message saying that it was not part of the recall and that I would have to pay for it out of pocket which is completely incorrect as I have also confirmed with another dealership that it is part of the recall after discussing that with them they took it back in they said they'd look at it according to the paperwork they gave me when I picked it up yet again it said that he had clocked in for 2 minutes so I obviously was concerned with the alignment so I called another dealership and asked if I could take it into them. Long story shorts the safety recall had never been performed at all!.

On August 29, 2021 the drivers side keyless entry fell off our vehicle while traveling on the ohio turnpike. The wiring harness held the trim component from falling off the vehicle, but caused it to fling and smash into the vehicle until we pulled off the turnpike. We duct taped the part in place until we could get the vehicle to our local Lincoln dealer. I noticed that the part had no clips to hold it into place, just double sided sticky tape that had only adhered to about 1/3 of the frame. On inspection, we noticed that the passenger side trim was also loose. I was told by Lincoln that at 53,000 miles this was a trim part and not considered an electrical component. We purchased a new component (part # be9z7420555ba) and had the dealership (signature Ford of owosso, mi) install the part. Now on March 1, 2024 we heard a rattle coming from the drivers door. On inspection, the new part has almost came off again as well as the passenger side trim. We checked for a recall and found that the Ford edge (the same basic vehicle with a Ford logo) has a recall on this same component. Can you be of any help in this matter.

Front sub frame rusted out completely on drivers side, passenger side is fine. The frame could separate at any time which could cause you to loss control of car without warning. Took car to get lower control arm replaced and repair shop saw rust damage to sub frame and took pictures. Called Ford to tell them about issue, they are having a dealer inspect it on 11/25/2022.

My 2014 Lincoln Mkt has two moonroofs. The first one exploded on 9/12/22 while driving the car on a sunny, wind free day. Sounded like a gunshot hit the glass and was frightening. Car is 8 years old at time of incident. I see this has been an ongoing issue with Ford/Lincoln since 2007. These parts need t be recalled. The glass alone is $3300 with total 3 day repair over $5k! had to find a glass vendor who could shrink wrap exterior/interior so glass would not fall into vehicle and rain would not enter vehicle. See class action lawsuits have been previously filed.
My wife and I purchased a certified, pre-owned, 2018 Lincoln Mkt for her in July. Last month we finally looked at dash covers. Many Ford vehicles, including ours, have adaptive cruise control. One feature included in this option is a collision warning system which flashes a row of red lights on the dash when it activates. Several manufacturers required the dash cover purchaser to check off whether, or not, their vehicle had adaptive cruise control. My wife liked a fabric pattern offered by coverking. When I found no place to check off adaptive cruise control on their order system, I stopped placing the order and sent them an inquiry as to whether their dash covers had the necessary cutout for this feature because it doesn’t do any good to have such a great safety feature if the dash cover blocks the flashing lights. They responded and referred me to the following on their website “all coverking dash covers are designed from the original vehicle dashboard using sophisticated software. Therefore, all cutouts, sensors, cup holders, and airbag openings are studied and the coverking dash cover is designed not to interfere. Making the coverking dash cover a superior product over the competition. ” with that assurance, I returned to the website and placed my order. I was surprised to receive a dash cover with no cutout for the red lights. See attached picture. Please note that I made the cutout shown in the picture. You can see the absence of the black edge trim around the cutout I made. Blocking the driver from being able to see a very important safety feature when it activates, and which is intended to help the driver avoid a collision. Is inexcusable. Question: “how many avoidable accidents have drivers had due to the negligence of coverking in not providing the necessary cutout over the collision warning red lights?”.
Panoramic sunroof shattered and it’s broken in pieces now; no longer just shattered I am on the phone with a george hilliker from the newark carmax now. To my dismay there is nothing that can be done since this is not a mechanical defect. So at this point I am going to definitely cancel the extended carmax care that I did sign up for him to help offset my cost for my deductible to deal with this damage. I would regret not turning around and returning the car on may 4 just because I heard the sound and had no idea what the consequences of that would turn into. I will also convey this in the survey request that I have received from carmax. Taking this up any further would only cause me more frustration and money, but at this juncture I will definitely speak with a lawyer to see what my options are that way sincei am now stuck with this vehicle. Granted had I known it had started breaking the glass on the third I would’ve returned it at any carmax between colorado and delaware.

My 2014 Lincoln Mkt panoramic roof exploded with no warning while driving. Ford is claiming this is a repair for which I need to pay. I believe this is a dangerous defect that needs to be recalled. There are several documented instances of this happening with the 2014 lincon Mkt. I was driving 20mph and turning when the roof exploded.
On w Wednesday 4/7/21 my car showed a warning of low oil pressure 1x for about 6 seconds. The engine light was on after that. Took it to a local tuffy shop. Both turbos are blown!! the engine light brings up emission problem and catylytic converter. Nothing about any engine issues!! the mechanic said there is oil shooting into my engine!! I just got an oil change 3 weeks ago, my cars oil meter reads fine. No low oil!!! the car drives fine. No indication. No oil leak, brand new oil pan, oil is not low!! how is this possible?? the car is as quiet as a church mouse. No engine knocking, no overheating nothing . This is obvious a problem. Why isn't there a recall on the turbos if they know they go bad???? what is the indicator??? I need help with a new engine, I love this car😭😭😭 ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

This Lincoln Mkt has given continual problems with fuel issues, engine problems, check engine light constantly coming on and taking it back and forth to the dealer and they cant even figure out the issue as to why the check engine light keeps coming on. The vehicle has fumes coming from the pipes, it jerks and threatens to cut off and with all the repairs done and complaints sent to the Lincoln corp, there is still no resolve. This is our family car, but we never know when it is going to shut off or start smoking or when the check engine light will come on. This makes the vehicle unsafe to drive and it seems to be unrepairable. Especially since each time we get it back from the dealership, the light comes back on. These problems occur with the vehicle in motion. I dont know when it is going to function properly or not and most times, I have my children with me. It is really scary.
1-head light front right side is working 5 min and closed direct I go mechanic is not funded any problem 2- my car have 2 recall I going delar premier 152 58th st brooklyn NY 11220 and side I just make 1 recall number 20e01 powertrain control module reprogramming other recall number 20v072 rear suspension toe link replacement becuse delar tell me not have part and tell me coming back after 3 month why I see recall and dealer not have part and not fixed please I need help see attach is bill for just 1 recall dealr doit other one no need maked I used car is very bad suspension rear and I see dealer dont care customer.
Door is ajar light fails intermittently. This causes the interior lights to come on which is very dangerous and blinding driver. When driving the interior lights come on blinding me temporarily.
I have two complaints on this vehicle. 1. Driving down the road and hear a loud explosion that was the moonroof,. 2. The water pump was defective and put coolant into my oil and ruined the engine. This seems to have happened way too many times for this not to be a recall on both of these. My car literally overheated out of nowhere.
I was driving on the highway no one was on the highway a loud explosion sound like it felt like someone shot my car in a close range and am lucky to be alive I started swerving. Pulled over frantic to see what it was my sunroof glass was shattered all around the edges gone. I couldn't believe that out of nowhere. The temperature was like 67 degrees no hot or cold outside. Am just glad that the highway was empty.

Yesterday as I was driving on the I 4 east I suddenly heard a big noise coming from my car it was the sunroof explore the front part of the glass it shadow the glass. I was driving I did not think anything hit sunroof at all , I just heard the noise and half of my sunroof was broken in pieces. I checked a few glass companies and get a price to fix it was about 4000 to 5000 dollars . Can you please help I think it's a defective glass. Thank you.
The glass sunroof exploded while me and my kids where in the car. It was scary and crazy all at the same time. Gary yeoman Lincoln states its not under warranty, and that his was hit buy a something causing it to break. After reading all the complainta and review. I think they should have done a recall a long time ago! I got out the car to go the dickerson center on orange avenue in daytona beach and everthing was fine and got back in and my son asked whats wrong with you sun roof!.
Navigator system, bluetooth system, are disconnected all the time, in the middle of any trip.
We own 21 Lincoln Mkts 8 of them over time have popped there panoramic glass roofs , half of them sitting in parking lots , the other half with customers in cars going down the road , this vehicle popped on expressway with passangers in car.
1) the inspector reported the tires mounted on the rear of your vehicle are not the manufacture's recommend tire size. The inspector verified the transfer case failed internally and snapped off of the transmission. The front u-joint of the rear drive shaft is bent and leaking grease (can not determine I. There is transmission and transfer case fluid blown back on the undercarriage of the vehicle as a result of the failure.
While driving home on a street my sunroof exploded. Sounded like a bomb. We immediately pulled over and checked. No impact seen. A few days later took to our local Lincoln dealership. They claimed maybe a possible impact seen and car no longer under warranty for glass. Had to pay my $500 deductible and have it fixed. There was no impact. No one around us. Went under no bridges. Lincoln needs to step up and figure out what is going on.
Very strong exhaust fumes in cabin under heavy acceleration. Smells like sulfur or rotten eggs. Dealership has stated there is no solution. This appears to be the same issue that has affected other Lincoln & Ford models (such as the Ford explorer).
While traveling on a highway, the moonroof on my vehicle exploded (sounded like a . 38 going off). I immediately pulled over to see what had happened (thinking maybe it was a blown tire) only to find that the moonroof had completely shattered (see attached pictures). I had two other people in my vehicle at the time. Ford knows that this is a flaw and won't recall these vehicles in which I believe should be mandatory as it is a highly dangerous safety issue.
At 2:30 in the afternoon our chauffeur was southbound on I 69 with a customer in car when they heard a loud gunshot like bang. Got off on the next exit to inspect vehicle and found hole in roof. Someone from the office had to take them a nother car to switch out. The one with the shattered sunroof was brought back to the shop.
Takata recall. While driving on the highway, with no other vehicles near us, our moonroof exploded. We were not near any overpass. No other vehicle or person was involved. It is apparent that it exploded outward. This vehicle is garage kept. Nothing ever fell on top of car or scraped it. We are out $1000. 00 + rental car exp.
A gas type odor enters cabin of vehicle. I believe it to be carbon monoxide. I often have to roll down the windows even in cold winter weather to prevent carbon monoxide from overtaking the cabin when the heating system is on.
After driving at high speed or high load and then coming to a stop, an exhaust smell will fill the cabin with visible smoke coming from under the hood. My friend was driving my car and said he almost passed out, while driving 50 mph, before opening a window. I have personally experienced this problem as well, thinking my car was on fire. Ford dealer says there is no recall or known fix for this problem.
Front roof glass panel exploding for no apparent reason while driving on highway with no cars or bridges around me. Shards and pieces of broken glass hitting me and passenger. Safety issue and has happened to hundreds of people and Lincoln/Ford will not stand behind lack of workmanship or design flaw. They want $1800 to repair.
While driving on the parkway a loud explosion noise occurred; glass from the sunroof came into the vehicle. No vehicles were in front of me. The front portion of the sunroof had a gaping hole. A police report was filed there was no evidence of a rock or bullet as the reason for the incident.
While parked in front of a hotel for about 10 minutes with the engine running and the windows up, the forward half of the glass roof exploded outward with a loud bang. Luckily, the sunshade was closed so no glass fell directly the passenger. There was no impact, no extreme temperature, absolutely nothing that would cause this to occur. . . Date of occurrence: 3/31/2016 time of occurrence: 7:18am temperature at the time it happened: 50 degrees fahrenheit physical location: kent state university hotel, 215 s. Depyster st, kent, OH after searching the internet, I found so many people that have experienced similar breakage. . . Indicates that there has to be a defect in the design or possibly the tempering of the glass itself. While there was no danger in my situation, it is easy to see how this could cause an accident if it occurred under different circumstances. I feel this definitely needs to be addressed with the manufacturer.
Head light one of them always off.
This vehicle was modified by small volume manufacturer baf technologies (now westport) with an epa-approved cng conversion package. The fuel filler receptacle, however, was not securely mounted to the frame. It was merely mounted on a plastic disc and glued to a plastic interior body panel. That glued mounting has now failed within the 'bumper to bumper' warranty period, but westport/baf has refused to repair it under warranty. Their los angeles warranty service provider has also refused to perform this repair even if I pay for it. The original mounting method is extremely weak and would result in serious or catastrophic damage (e. G. Gas leak, fire, explosion) if the user were to 'drive off' with the dispenser hose attached. All of these vehicles need to be retrofitted to meet nfpa requirements for mobile cng systems, including the ability to survive a 'drive-off' without serious or catastrophic damage. See nfpa section 52 6. 9. 2 "the fueling connection receptacle shall be mounted to withstand the breakaway force specified in 7. 11. 6. 2. (150 pounds in any direction the vehicle can move)" in addition, I believe this mounting violates nfpa 6. 9. 3 (receptacle not installed in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations) and 6. 9. 4 (insufficient clearance to prevent interference with operation of the fueling nozzle). This failure occurred when the vehicle was being refueled. The only damage in this case was to the receptacle mounting. The mounting was apparently not even strong enough to withstand the forces of connecting and disconnecting the fueling hose and nozzle during normal fueling operations.
To start we have 5 other Lincoln Mkts with the same concern in the last 18 months, 4 which were covered under base warranty. The glass roof during what seems to be temperature changes pops. This time Lincoln will not cover this even though it only has 25,000 miles on it. I went through regular Ford channels and they refused full coverage. After some research I found they have had problems with other vehicles as well . The conditions at the time the roof popped . Car was parked during day and through the night in a secured lit camera monitored parking lot. The next morning roof was shattered.
