Car begin smoking out of the back took car to dealership car oil was low. Car dealership refilled oil and told me to come back after driving 1000 miles. Car began smoking again like it was going to catch on fire took car in was told the turbo boost failed. Dealership mention that the turbo boost was previously repaired and under warranty so they repaired it. Car started smoking again I took car to dealership to get an oil change and made them aware that the car was smoking bad again. I was informed that it takes a while for the oil to burn out of the exhaust. Two days later I when to the store to pick up my medication and once again the car began smoking and the smoke was comin into the car, the check engiene like came on and the oil light came on as I was driving. The car began to make ding sound and start stuttering like it was going to shut off. I tried to acclerator and the car was still going slow as I was driving on a busy street. I got the car home and the next day called to have it towed to dealership. 3/2/2023 called the dealership because I have not heard from them and was informed that the turbo boost failed again.
Turbo has gone out but this makes the second time that this had happened. I have investigated this problem with others and have found the same problem with the turbos! I notice it smokes excessive and was told its a fire hazard and not to drive on highway. This problem occurred while driving on the street when it began losing power to accelerate!.
Noticed sluggishness on interstate and exited at the first available exit that was approximately 1 mile away. When exiting interstate and coming to a complete stop at the stop sign, it died and would not start. It was blocking the single turning lane. It was turning over very well but seemed to be lacking fuel maybe. Had it towed to local mechanic shop. No word back from them yet. Just had the fuel pump replaced at my expense about 4 months ago. I know there was a recall on the fuel pump before we bought it. It was an employee's vehicle that worked at the dealership and I suspect the so-called repair was pencil whipped and not really repaired by the dealership. It was a "certified " car and we paid a premium price for it and I'm still paying!.
First time I was driving at about 20 miles per hour and let go of the gas pedal the car jumped out of drive and did a jerking sound they replied it was 2 solenoids were replaced the next time I was diving up a hill with a 20% grade and tried to accelerate and it lost all power. It remained the same on acceleration. No power what so ever until I made it to the top.
This brief - will need additional explanation of all evidence -- I purchased Mkt Lincoln approx 10/2010. I also was told by then f&I mgr richard schwagerl that the Ford extended warranty is the exact same and he described as the extension of the factory bumper to bumper warranty that comes with the car - the price was $1705. 00. I asked him it is the exact same ? - he said yes. Well I purchased and have since found out he was wrong and also suspect he had told others the same thing. In 10/2014 the factory warranty expires and I will still have problems with the car that dealer today states will not be covered to work on . . To date the car has been 145 days out of service, around 10/2011 rob sight Lincoln Ford - kansas city, mo (now rob sight Ford)declined to continue to fix problems. I filed complaint to Ford,. Resulted in assignment to tom sight Ford-lees summit, mo , who refused to touch car since they were not a Lincoln dealer. Then Ford assigned to olathe Lincoln Ford - olathe, KS. 12/2011. To date, they have attempted to fix numerous problems, succeeded in some and not others. . Currently car is at their location with problems they can identify and can not fix. Other problems were with the design flaws and safety issues regarding collision control blind spot warnings and when I have went through the Ford arbitration - with the bbb, they denied my request for buy back stating -- since those were options, can not include in the Ford arbitration and problems were not within the 18 month time line, which was not true. They had all the copies of work orders indicating the opposite of that and still was denied. . It would take a law suit to continue this.
