1 Power Train problem of the 2010 Lincoln MKT

Failure Date: 01/08/2022

There is an apparent transmission issue and, according to my research, it is somewhat common with this model vehicle. There is an intermittent problem with shift delay and/or "jumping" during acceleration from first gear. Often happens at stopped position at light and is dangerous if turning in front of oncoming traffic. I was hoping for a recall on this issue, but guess I'll have to take it to a repair shop at my expense. As for any warning lights. . . . About a month ago, the check engine light came on while we were traveling, but went away on its own by the time we got home a couple days later, so don't know if it is related or not? below ask when "incident"occurred, but it has happened multiple times so I will just list first approximate date.

2 Power Train problem of the 2011 Lincoln MKT

Failure Date: 04/09/2021

On w Wednesday 4/7/21 my car showed a warning of low oil pressure 1x for about 6 seconds. The engine light was on after that. Took it to a local tuffy shop. Both turbos are blown!! the engine light brings up emission problem and catylytic converter. Nothing about any engine issues!! the mechanic said there is oil shooting into my engine!! I just got an oil change 3 weeks ago, my cars oil meter reads fine. No low oil!!! the car drives fine. No indication. No oil leak, brand new oil pan, oil is not low!! how is this possible?? the car is as quiet as a church mouse. No engine knocking, no overheating nothing . This is obvious a problem. Why isn't there a recall on the turbos if they know they go bad???? what is the indicator??? I need help with a new engine, I love this car😭😭😭 ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

3 Power Train problem of the 2010 Lincoln MKT

Failure Date: 04/02/2021

Turbo has gone out but this makes the second time that this had happened. I have investigated this problem with others and have found the same problem with the turbos! I notice it smokes excessive and was told its a fire hazard and not to drive on highway. This problem occurred while driving on the street when it began losing power to accelerate!.

4 Power Train problem of the 2010 Lincoln MKT

Failure Date: 11/04/2019

I have a 2010 Lincoln Mkt and I have been having trouble with the power steering. It randomly stops working and it difficult to steer the car. I almost hit a mailbox today because the steering became so stiff and the alert came up on my dash. There is a recall for the 2011 and 2012 models but the NHTSA recall should include the 2010 models as well. I have children and this is a huge safety hazard! I won't even be able to resell the car in this condition as it is random. Please consider looking into this issue promptly as I can see there have been other complaints and my situation is not unique. I pray to god I don't get in an accident because I don't have any other options for transportation and will try to avoid using the interstate in meantime. 6 Power Train problem of the 2013 Lincoln MKT

Failure Date: 09/01/2019

Purchased vehicle used with 103,000 miles in August 2020. From the start the car did not feel right. I was hearing a light knocking noise going over uneven roads. The wheel felt slightly unsteady brought to 2 mechanics and neither could determine a problem. Now 6 months later I have gotten 2 wheel alignments, going on my third. Brand new tires in November are almost destroyed. At this time I am terrified the car will loose steering function. The suspension feels horrible, car has very loose feeling when turning or going on uneven roads. Knocking noise is still present but now with a grinding noise while going under 30 turning either direction, reverse, forward doesn't matter. While driving the wheel feels like it has no control at times. Everything is heard and felt in the front end.

I drove in my driveway. Shifted to park and turned off the ignition, popped the trunk release. Exited the car and saw the trunk lid was down. Got the remote out of my pocket and pressed it to open trunk . Trunk still didn't open. Went back to driver's door, opened it and the alarm system and lights went off, and my car started rolling backwards and knocked me down and ran over me!.

8 Power Train problem of the 2013 Lincoln MKT

Failure Date: 08/11/2014

Received recall notice 14s10, NHTSA 14v-393 from Lincoln and took vehicle to dealer for inspection. Object of recall was found defective. Left vehicle on 12 August, after being told the vehicle was safe to drive even with the defective parts. I did not feel comfortable driving the car after reading what the defect could cause. After 2 weeks, was told some of the parts were not available to complete the repair. I consider this not responsive to the public.

9 Power Train problem of the 2012 Lincoln MKT

Failure Date: 03/07/2014

My 2013 Lincoln Mkt engine can be turned off while in drive by simply pushing the " push start button". Thats right the car turns itself off when in drive if one mistakenly touches the 'push start button' used to start the car! to restart the car one must put the car in park, and apply the brake. This obviously is very dangerous when traveling on any road or highway and will certainly lead to an accident. Note: I have have found the same symptom in both Lincoln and Ford cars with the push start button option. I recently drove a Ford explorer and flex, both with the push button option and both could cars engine could be turned off while the cars were in drive. It does not take much pressure to cause this failure to occur. In fact a slight glance of your hand or finger on the push start button is all it takes. I have contact Lincoln and Ford but with no response. Your interst in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

10 Power Train problem of the 2010 Lincoln MKT

Failure Date: 12/18/2012

The incident occurred in a parking lot, in bright daylight at 4:05 pm. The Lincoln Mkt was being driven on an errand to a shopping mall. The driver made left turn, and stopped for another vehicle backing out of a parking spot. On proceeding to make a right-hand turn into the same parking spot, the vehicle traveling slowly, there was a bump/or jerk and the vehicle accelerated on its own. This is the point of the unintended acceleration, inspite of the driver using the brakes, the vehicle accelerated over the sidewalk and continued into the wall of a cvs drug store. The wall stalled the vehicle, the driver put the vehicle into "park," hit the stop/ignition button and exited the vehicle. Police and fire department responded, the police officer did not file an accident report. There were no injuries only property damage. He interviewed the driver and observed the car stuck in the wall of the cvs store. He was present for the exchange of insurance and drivers' information. The fire dept ensure safety of the building after the vehicle was removed. The vehicle was tolled to the Ford dealership for inspection and repair. Their dealer's mechanic did not find a computer record of an "error message. " on hind-sight the had been a previous low speed bump followed by a surge in acceleration but this occurred at an intersection with a stop sign, the driver did not attributed this as mechanical because the car was moving. In the 12/18/12 accident the driver was trying to stop the forward progress and the Lincoln Mkt would not respond.

13 Power Train problem of the 2010 Lincoln MKT

Failure Date: 11/10/2010

When I first got the car in 2010, the first incident occurred while I was driving about 40 mph. I would step on the accelerator and the car would jerk and the rpm's would rev up and nothing would happen. On an oil change service, I reported this to the dealer and they said they could not reproduce the incident and nothing showed up on the computer record chip. On many occasions after, the same thing would happen, I would step on the accelerator and the car would jerk furiously and the rpm's would rev up and nothing would happen. . . The car was at a standstill. This would happen while I was sitting at a traffic light or trying to make a left turn. If I was trying to make a left turn and this occurred, I could of gotten killed if the car did not move during the middle of the turn. . . . Luckily there was no oncoming traffic when it happened. I reported this may times to different Lincoln dealers in the metro detroit area. . . They all said it could not be reproduced. . . They made me feel as though I was crazy for reporting this. I would even go to the dealer on the day it would happen so they could check the computer chip within 24 hours of the incident and still nothing showed up. Finally, a check engine light came on about a year ago, and the dealer finally determined that it was a speed sensor that went bad. The dealer could not detect the problem if the speed sensor was partially bad, it had to fully go bad in order for it to be detected. This was very frustrating and cost me a lot of time, money, energy and mental anguish wondering if I was going to die because the car would not work while I was turning or in the middle of traffic.

The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln Mkt. While driving approximately 35 mph he noticed that the vehicle was pulling to the right and he could feel vibrations throughout the entire vehicle. He also heard a grinding noise whenever pressure was applied to the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the brakes were repaired. Approximately one week later the failures began to recur and the vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer where the brakes were repaired again. Upon receiving the vehicle from the authorized dealer the vibrations and pulling toward the right continued to occur. While driving approximately 35 he heard a loud bang and the vehicle pulled sharply to the right. The steering wheel then became very stiff forcing the contact to drive onto the emergency lane and turn the vehicle off. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where he was informed that there was a failure within the steering column, computer system and tie rods. The vehicle was repaired. While driving approximately 30 mph down a slight decline he heard a loud bang.
