My 2007 Lincoln Mkx had an sua and within 10 feet totaled the front end when it was thrust into a cement building. This happened on [xxx] and the vehicle is available for inspection here in ft. Wayne, indiana. In 2010 Lincoln implemented an override device to the brake system knowing of the problem and there was no recall for vehicles prior to 2010. My safety was put at risk and that of others. If someone had been exiting the store or walking down the sidewalk they could have been killed. I am suffering with physical and mental problems as a result of this. Police report also states this was definitely a vehicle malfunction. There were no warning signs prior to the incident. Claim has been filed with the office of general council at Lincoln, but remains unresolved to date. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I went to the Ford dealership on greystone in columbia SC to get my recall done. I was told that the part I needed for the recall was not in stock and that they would have to order it. After two weeks pasted I called to see if the part came in and I was told, it was on back order and they didn't know how long it would take to come in and that they would call me once it arrived. I never received a call.
The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 mph, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure occurred on three occasions. The contact mentioned that the failures occurred after the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 14v682000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
In states where road salt is used, Ford is recalling certain vehicles where the license plate lamp assembly may experience an electro-chemical reaction and corrosion as a result of water intrusion. Ford's list of recalled vehicles appear to be very narrow. My 2007 Lincoln Mkx (three years prior to the current recall list) has the same problem - one of the 2 license plate lights is corroded and quit working (it was rusted and fell apart when I went to replace it). I expect the other light isn't far behind. If there is an increased risk of fire, the current recall should warrant a closer look at adding more vehicles that used this component. Nhtsa campaign number: 14v285000 component(s): exterior lighting consequence: corrosion may result in a short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.
Multiple low beam headlamp harness plugs have melted. Other running light plugs have also shown heat damage and caused the light to fail to work. Bulbs are not failing but the receptacle/plug where they connect to the vehicle shows heat damage and melting until the light looses connection. I have replaced both low beam headlight plugs already and am getting ready to replace them again. This bulb/plug design probably affects other models and probably other manufacturers too.
I was driving out of the parking lot suddenly anxious about the gas pedal because however hard I pressed it, the car wouldn't move ahead. I managed to get onto the main road with the emergency wrench coming up along with the driver airbag and zero mileage for the car indicating. However, this was lucky because it didn't happen on highway, I was extremely stressed out standing in the lane to turn to highway. I changed my mind, turned around, and returned to the parking lot at a crawl. I understand now that this is a common issue with the Lincoln Mkx 2007 due to the fact that the Ford opened a claim website related to just this problem. No wonder recently I have been bombarded with the letters to renew my factory warranty as soon as possible. Just as I paid off my car last January, it started breaking on me. Is it the reason why you make your cars to last only during the period of the 5-year factory warranty?!now, to change sensor on the pedal cost 400+ and I am afraid to drive Lincoln Mkx because of this safety issue.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Mkx. The contact state that the vehicle had experienced electrical failures the drivers seat moved forward into the steering wheel and backward independently while the engine was off. The windows and sunroof opened and closed while the engine was off and also while unlocking the vehicle. The frontal passenger air bag off warning light illuminated while driving. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to have a diagnostic performed. The manufacturer advised that the electrical failures was due to maintenance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 62,225. Li.
