When using the brakes the pedal goes all the way to the floor and stops slowly. This is done while driving regardless what speed. The brakes would return and go back out randomly. I have the brakes go out on highway and city street as well as in park or in gear. Brake booster recall was done and the problem persisted. Returned to Lincoln and diagnostic was done stating needing to replace brake master cylinder and hydronic control. The hydronic control needs to be recalled. The price can go out without warning and cause vehicle not to stop.
I was driving and brakes went to floor no pedal at all. Before this happened the pedal was stiff and hard to push. There are no brake leaks master cylinder is full the brake pads are fine. I was wondering if it had a brake booster issue.
Master cylinder failed at 68k miles 7/2017, pedal went to floor but car did stop. 11/2017 abs pump leaked, causing car to lose brake fluid. Was close to dealership, was able to drive in with limited braking capacity.
Brake pedal very soft, goes to floor making it difficult to stop. After pumping brake a couple of times braking possible but still not right also a hissing sound can be heard. This happens when trying to stop on either city streets or highway. Example when stopping for a stop sign or signal. First repair shop I took it to checked my brakes and said they were fine. After still experiencing the problem I took it another repair facility and they were able to fix the problem by replacing the master cylinder and brake booster. Car now stops ok. This was at 46703 miles.
