Tl the contact owns a 2008 Lincoln Mkz. While driving 33 mph the brake pedal was depressed however, the brake failed to engage quickly causing the contact to rear end another vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the brake failure was an on going issue. No injuries were sustained and a police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to the an independent mechanic whom diagnosed the failure as the master cylinder however, the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer whom stated that the failure was not related to the master cylinder however, a failure cause was not diagnosed. The contact stated recently received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) and the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was diagnosed as being related to the recall. However, the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was upset that the parts were not available for the recall remedy in a timely manner. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts were not available.
Abs engaged on snowy road. Now, brake pedal is extremely soft/spongy. . . Does not engage until pedal is fully depressed. County road. Straight-line stop. Replaced brake master cylinder and performed factory pressure/service bleed. Cause is certain to be the historically faulty abs hcu/control module.
The contact owns a 2008 Lincoln Mkz. While driving 20 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. The contact stated that the vehicle would effectively stop; however, there were grave concerns that eventually the brakes would totally fail. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the master cylinder, brake calipers, and rotors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000. The VIN was not available.
I was driving on sr 441 when a vehicle in front of me struck the median. I hit the brake pedal and the brakes did not respond. The vehicle was taken to al packer Ford (towed). The dealer replaced the master cylinder. On or about April 15, my son as operating the same vehicle when he needed to stop quickly. My son hit the brakes and they did not respond. No collision occurred at this time.
