The rear seatbelt buckle isn't functioning correctly and is causing a seatbelt light. We are now told we have to spend close to $1,000 to get the buckle replaced or there's a chance my airbags will malfunction across the entire car should I get in an accident.
The contact owns a 2013 Lincoln Mkz. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v597000 (air bags, seat belts) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
