The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, several unknown warning lights illuminated. Additionally, on several occasions, while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed, and the brake pedal remained on the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the abs system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was determined that the abs system and the hecu needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated that while driving at 30 mph, the brakes failed to operate upon depression of the brake pedal as several warning lights flashed on the instrument panel. The contact immediately applied the emergency brake and drifted the vehicle off to the road shoulder. The contact restarted the vehicle a total of three times as the warning lights reappeared on the instrument panel after each failure. The contact managed to drive the vehicle home and later had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The dealer inspected the vehicle and informed him the abs hydraulic control unit was defective and needed to be repaired. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 69,500.
