Upon driving the vehicle, it has stalled seven times. Two of those incidents involved vehicle going into park without touching the park button. As it was shifting into park, there was a loud clicking sound as though the vehicle was 'fighting' going into park. Then the vehicle died. On at least five other occasions, it just died. Nothing indicating on my way app, or at service department for local Lincoln dealership. This began one week ago yesterday and without pattern, has continued. Upon return from Lincoln service department, issue resurfaced this morning when it went into park while driving.

Vehicle suddenly dies when driving without warning. I purchased the vehicle one month ago. Brougt it to the dealer for the bolt recall and stalled while dealer was trying to pull it into the bay. After that point, the vehicle died while drivng on numerous occasions. Went to the mechanic one two occasions and no codes pulled. Called dealer and they said I needed to go to a Ford dealer. Went to Ford dealer one code pulled (fuel injector) was replaced recommended I change transmission fluid and replace battery which I agreed to. Forty minutes after leaving dealer as I was oulling out of a parkign lot the car suddenly died again almost causing me to be hit by a box truck behind me. The car is back at the dealer and once again no codes are coming up and they said they cannot duplicate the issue. Went onto Mkz forums and this appears to be a problem not addressed which is causing a significant safety concern for both myself and others since there are no answers to why this is happening.

My car keeps running hot and the antifreeze disappears when you poor it in also the rpm good slow then goes fast then cuts off.
Vehicle jerks aggressively from park to reverse then reverse to drive at cold start. And from park to drive. Then there is a delay in engagement where there is no movement at all as you sit in the roadway with traffic. No codes displaying after an appointment with dealership and although I provided videos of issue occurring they say they can't duplicate issue and I must come back, weeks later. As soon as I leave issue occurs again. . . . .
I had to have my drive train replaced last month. Was there a recall for this?.

The contact owns a 2009 Lincoln Mkz. While the vehicle was stopped, it accelerated and the brakes did not work. The contact switched the gear to neutral and slowed the vehicle down. The contact called murphy Ford at (610) 494-8800 (3310 township line rd, chester, PA 19013) and the technician recommended a diagnostic test. The test was not performed and the failure was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the warranty was expired. The contact was referred to NHTSA. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.
Car complete stalls and says "run power active". Very unsafe situation. Car was not able to be moved. Was not able to be started again for over a minute.

Dtc code p188b - awd clutch control circuit awd system malfunction, awd turned off during driving normal mode. Restart the car the awd system is back on, dealer cannot fix it unless you get to them with the malfunction light on. Managed few times to bring it to them while under warranty, they changed two times the awd module the fault still returns. The dealer still says that is fixed when obviously is not.
The awd ptu unit needed to be replaced on my car twice in under 85,000 miles and just over 6 years. The first time was at approximately 51,000 miles and the second time was just around 85,000 miles. Both times, I noticed a dark oil spot on my cement driveway. The second time, I initially thought it was an oil leak, since I had just had an oil change and didn¿t make an appointment right away but then realized it was too dark for oil and was actually the ptu unit again. What would have happened if I didn't notice the leaking gear oil and the unit seized while I was driving on the highway? I would have lost control of the car. What kind of serious damage would that have done to the car? to me and others on the road? it¿s a potential road hazard. What damage has it already done to the transmission that I have to worry about in the future? it seems to be a design flaw in the car. It is speculated that the cause of the repeated failures is due to a too small oil well (under a pint) or that it's placed too close to the catalytic converter that destroys the seal, which then requires the entire unit be replaced at a significant cost. Since this has happened twice in 85,000 miles, I am concerned it will happen again. In addition, Ford hasn¿t provided a fix to this problem. I have contacted Ford multiple times about them providing a fix or to at least look into it and they¿ve told me they haven¿t received many complaints about it. I find that hard to believe because if you search on-line, the ptu failing seems to be a common problem with Ford and Lincoln awd cars. Many cars have needed to have it replaced more than once - one up to 5 times. Thank you for your review.
The powertrain control module and coils went bad. Had the car towed to the dealer. Was told that there was a technical service bulletin (TSB 14-0059) on 2007-2008 Lincoln Mkz's. I was told that my VIN # was not one of the problem cars covered. My car is a 2007 Lincoln Mkz I feel that Lincoln is in error and I should be covered fully for repair.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated that the part for NHTSA campaign number: 14v597000 (air bags, seat belts) was not available. The contact did not disclose if a failure was experienced or not. Djr.
The contact owns a 2014 Lincoln Mkz hybrid. The contact stated during the winter, the transmission would shift gears to low independently. Also, the contact stated that without the vehicle being on, the transmission shifted out of park and rolled away. As a result of the failure, the vehicle crashed into a barrier. The contact was made aware of recall NHTSA campaign id number 13v594000 (power train). However, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000.
Display in dashboard displayed "blindspot not available". Simultaneously, the blind spot warning light on passenger (right) side came on and would not go off for several minutes. Warning message in dashboard display went off on its own, but indicator light will not come on with vehicle in the blind spot.

New 2014 Lincoln Mkz hybrid bought on 12/12/14 goes into gear while in park without pressing brake and with blinking green light on (accessory mode & not drive). From initial purchase 9now 9 months ago) this happened about a couple of dozen times - there are witnesses (including passengers riding in the car) when this has happened. Car is dangerous at 0 mph. Ford/Lincoln apparently had a recall on Mkz hybrids for this problem supposedly for models mfg. In mexico (thru oct. 2013 ?). . . . . . Well this one car was missed. Vehicle has been back to the dealer 3 times now but this safety problem still persists.
The car shifts from drive to neutral when driving. The car shifts from drive to low while driving. The car shifts from reverse to park while driving. This has happened multiple times a few time it almost resulted in a accident. I finally took it to a dealership for repairs and will wait and see if it continues to happen. This is a situation that could and will likely result in a death if this continues to happen. The dealership did not seem surprise about what was happening. There is a recall about the repair but I was never notified of the recall. My car did not accept the repair as there were more computer issues going on then a simply fix to the shift modulator.
Vehicle locked out of ability to shift from park to reverse. The car needed to be restarted several times over 20 minutes in order to shift into reverse. Caused obstacle to traffic. Blind cross traffic alert and forward collision warning alarm is activated without proper stimulus, slowing the vehicle automatically when there is no threat of collision. This almost caused three separate accidents. Lincoln service suggested disabling this safety feature. Note that the forward collision warning does not meet NHTSA standard according to jd powers.
The contact owns a 2012 Lincoln Mkz hybrid. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the stop car safely now warning message illuminated as the vehicle independently decelerated. The contact shut the engine off and was able to drive without failure after restarting the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 51,000.

When driving the car it will shift from drive to s1, s2, s3, s4, it will decrease in speed, like a hesitation and slowing down. I am afraid if this constantly happens some one will hit me in the rear. , causing a serious accident. We have taken this car in twice for repairs, still isn't fixed. First, OH its need to be put on the computer and recalibrated. Second, after test driving the dealership service department couldn't assess the cause and it didn't occur while they did a test drive. This is a serous defect and danger to me, my family and others on the highway. It needs to be investigated and repaired. This is still occurring while driving daily. Seriously thinking about returning this vehicle.
When you are slowing down from a speed of 30 or over you can feel the transmission kick. When you are stopping from regular road speeds and or highway speeds the transmission feels like it is kicking. Best way to describe it is you stop and then you feel a bump. It is not normal. Feels almost like a very hard down shift only by that point you are already stopped.
Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated that while parked, the vehicle began to roll backward and across two lanes of traffic. The contact was struck by the driver's side door which pushed her back into the vehicle however, her ankle was still outside of the vehicle. The contact sustained a fractured ankle bone and lost enough blood to sustain five blood transfusions. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The failure and current mileage was 55,000. Kmj.
Backed crookedly into parking slot in public parking lot. Tried to straighten car in slot by slowly moving forward. Car on its own lurched ahead at high rate of speed; brakes had little effect and I struck a parked car. Somehow shifted into reverse and car on its own gained ferocious speed traveling backwards. This forward, then backward pattern continued on its own while I struggled to control the steering wheel. In reverse, car continued gaining speed beyond my control, wheeling about the parking lot and striking 3 or 4 additional autos. During all this time the car shot mostly backward at increasingly faster speeds in wide arcs, in pinball fashion. Eventually the repeated hammering by my car against other parked vehicles slowed my car enough that I could brake finally, and turned off the engine. Altogether my auto had struck and seriously damaged 6 other vehicles. Accelerator seemed stuck during the event, and brakes had no effect until car's speed was sufficiently slowed--before operating. Damage to my auto, particularly the entire front end--grill and front fenders--was extensive.
