2 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/05/1999

After the second tire rotation at 15,000 miles, the front tires began showing very abnormal wear patterns. I contacted the tire manufacturer and they notified me they are having a very high incidence of similar complaints from virtually all Navigator 4x4 vehicles. The dealer is telling me it is the alignment and that I should rotate the tires every 5,000 miles - or about half the interval the manual calls for. I have checked the alignment and that was not the problem. I feel there is a defect with the front suspension of this vehicle. ( dot number: ).
