The contact owns a 2002 Lincoln Navigator. The contact was driving 50 mph when the side impact air bag deployed without warning. As a result, the contact sustained an injury to the ear drum. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics but the dealer was unable to determine why the air bags had deployed without the vehicle being involved in a crash. The contact called the manufacturer and the manufacturer sent a specialist to inspect the vehicle. The specialist advised that a faulty component in the air bag caused the deployment. The manufacturer stated that they would not provide any assistance for the repair. The contact stated vehicle was unsafe to drive. The failure mileage was unknown.
I won a 2002 Lincoln Navigator on an ebay auction and paid $19,000 for the vehicle via direct wire transfer through my bank. The Lincoln Navigator advertisement represented the vehicle as "like new in every way", "our mechanics have inspected this truck and found everything to be in excellent working condition" & "options: driver & passenger airbags". The vehicle is in poor condition. The airbags were deployed and not replaced. Radiator has two holes in it, the manufacturer warranty is voided, keyless remote missing, cd magazine missing, owners manual missing, floor mats do not match, numerous scratches, dings & nicks. I was told it had climate controlled seats and it does not. I was also told that the seller is a private party. Unfortunately he is a dealer thus I will have to pay sales tax of $1,064. I have corresponded with the seller via email and telephone numerous times. I have asked him to buy the vehicle back from me or pay for the repairs and he says that he does not have the money. All-in-all the seller's misrepresentation of this vehicle will cost me $8,647.
