I was driving down a county road when the side airbags deployed with no collision or fast braking. I was approaching a stop sign and was coasting and had not applied the brakes when it occurred.
While driving down the highway at 70 mph, the side airbag curtains in our 2004 Lincoln Navigator deployed for no reason. We took the vehicle directly to the Ford dealership and was told that the diagnostics ran on it showed that we had a collision that caused the airbags to deploy. Our insurance adjuster looked at the vehicle and found that there was no type of collision to have caused the airbags to deploy. The dealership insists that we hit something and chooses not to repair it. Instead, we were told that we had to pay for it; $6,000. 00.
While driving my Lincoln Navigator down the highway my side airbags deployed almost causing an accident. I contacted the dealer where purchased 2 months ago, they came to get the vehicle that day. After keeping my vehicle about a week they contacted me and stated they would not fix the problem , I received the truck back today with both airbags hanging down and the warning light on, my husband and I were told we are on our own and they would not look into the problem, I do not know what to do about the problem, or if the truck will be safe to drive now or if the front airbags might deploy.
