Defogger Heater problem #1

The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Navigator. While the vehicle was parked, the contact heard a popping noise followed by a loud explosion. He noticed that the vehicle was on fire. He then heard more popping sounds and noticed that the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. The fire destroyed the vehicle and melted the sidings of the house and shed. The vehicle has not been inspected to determine the cause of the fire. The current and failure mileages were 1,500. The consumer stated before the fire remembers the cruise control was acting erratic and the heat in the vehicle was not working at the time. The consumer provided pictures of the vehicle engulfed in flames from the defect. Updated 08/20/07.

Windshield problem #2

The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Navigator. While driving the vehicle at night, the contact is blinded by the glare from oncoming vehicles and cannot change lanes. The contact believes that because the dashboard is black, the lights from the dashboard are affecting her visibility. She stated that when the sun shines on the vehicle, it also produces a glare which affects her visibility. The dealer and manufacturer stated that nothing could be done to remedy the failure. She stated that the windshield seems to be inside out because at night, the oncoming vehicles appear to have their high beams activated. The current mileage is 4,200 and failure mileage was 100.
