The transmissions down shifts extremely hard, causing an abrupt wheel speed reduction. It starts doing this after you have driven the vehicle about 15 minutes. . . . Before that it operates correctly but once you hit 15 minutes of drive time, it is neck jolting! driver and passenger mirrors have a mind of their own. They will be in position, you start backing out of a spot and they start moving until they get so out of place they start popping. This is dangerous due to possibility of running over someone or possibly hitting another vehicle. You have to put the vehicle in park, reset the mirrors, then start backing out again.
The vehicle is a 2019 Lincoln Navigator. The component that failed is the transmission. The vehicle experienced a sudden transmission failure resulting in loss of normal drivability. The issue is currently available for inspection at the repair facility upon request. This failure created a safety concern due to loss of power, hesitation, and unreliable shifting, which can increase the risk of collision, particularly in traffic or during acceleration. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership and independent repair facilities. Multiple repair professionals indicated that this failure is consistent with a known issue addressed by a Ford technical service bulletin (TSB), suggesting this is not an isolated incident. The vehicle has been inspected by the repair facility. The manufacturer has not directly inspected the vehicle to my knowledge. There were no significant prior warning indicators that would suggest imminent failure. Any symptoms prior to failure were minimal or not clearly indicative of a major transmission issue. Based on information from repair facilities, this appears to be a known defect pattern rather than normal wear or maintenance-related failure. The use of a TSB instead of a recall raises concerns that a broader safety-related defect may not be adequately addressed. This failure occurred after proper maintenance and outside any initial waiting period for warranty coverage. The issue appears systemic and warrants further investigation.
All four of my windows open without prompting numerous times. . .
The vehicle is hard shifting creating a forceful lunge which is followed by characteristics of the vehicle being in neutral (starts to slow down and revs when I try to continue on the road). I have been told the transmission on these vehicles (10 shift transmission) is part of a class action lawsuit. Ford customer service told me to contact NHTSA. It is very unsafe because when the car lunges and hard shifts, it slows my vehicle without my control which could cause an accident around me.
The driver side second row window is now going down all by itself and has happened 3 times in 5 days. I cant roll it up until I turn off the car and turn it back on.
5 dealerships unable to address rear camera recall in a timely manner. No definitive response from 5 dealers to include rockwall Ford, planet Ford, planet Lincoln, grapevine Lincoln, and david mcdavid Lincoln in the dallas area.
Could not get the Lincoln way app to work, took vehicle to mark mcclarty Lincoln dealership and was told the tcu (the unit that controls the communications in the car) needed to be replaced and the cost including parts and labor is $1181, concerned that vehicle won't report critical information as is intended to maintain safety of vehicle.
On 2/3/2023 while driving, there was a loud explosion sound in the vehicle. We immediately pulled over to try to determine the source of the sound as there were no vehicles around us, nothing near us, or over us. We opened the sunroof cover and discovered the glass had shattered. We closed the cover, exited the vehicle to look at the sunroof from the outside. We immediately called the dealership as we just purchased this vehicle used on 1/19/2023. Two weeks owning the vehicle and the sunroof explodes. We are waiting on a call back from the dealer to determine our next steps. This is definitely a safety issue as the noise could cause an accident and if the sunroof cover had been opened, the shattered glass would have been all over our family.
If the rear trunk gate is up and the vehicle is running the passenger compartment will fill with carbon monoxide very quickly. This usually will happen if loading luggage or items in the back of the vehicle while the engine runs. Certainly a risk if kids are left in the passenger compartment while the truck is being loaded when the engine is running.
Backup camera works intermittently. Only works ~20% of the time.
